    OMG

My girlfriend and I have been to The Smith many and always have a great experience. This place is great pick for a fun night out with really tasty food. Love the new menu options especially the pumpkin salad and chicken pot pie.

    Fun, Cool Atmosphere!!

I come here often, great place! Bar, great for food, fun, and drinks. Bartenders are fun and professional, great vibe. Busy, but laid back. Great deals on food and beer. Sundays do burger and a beer for $12, amazing deal!

    We were just walking by

Well we (4) were just walking by on our way somewhere else and checked out the menu and decided to walk in. Really nice inside, clean, uncrowded tables, nice vibe. We were seated in a booth and were greeted by a very laid back and effecient server! The short ribs- great, a chicken salad and an ahi tuna salad - great, great and a pork sandwich- fantastic ! All in all a great experience for just walking by ...and we will be back ! Thank you Smith staff

    Great Place for Sunday Brunch!

Just had brunch there. They had the windows open to the sidewalk, but inside, it was still quite cool on such a warm day. Brunch entrees are $12-15 and include your choice of fresh squeezed juice, mimosa or bloody mary. Coffee was $3, very good, but why do places always give you nonfat milk as creamer? half and half or cream please.. They have excellent french bread served with butter. They give you still and sparkling water in refillable bottles, free of charge. There was no wait, yet they were fairly full. Despite the EV / Union Square location, the crowd seemed more Midtown or Murray Hill. The atmosphere was non-threatening and non-rushed. The food was quite good as well. I will definitely be back.

    Unpretentious pub atmosphere

I sat at a table near the window with a friend last week at The Smith. It is totally good glorified pub fare. We both had a steak with crispy fries and a frosty beer. We had a blast. The tunes were cool and the waiter was attentive and sweet. There is a photo booth in the basement and a little surprise hidden in a hole in the wall. OH MY! Its a fun place. Its not trying to be something its not. Its fun and downtown. Enjoy!

    Glorified Over-Priced Diner Food

The food choices were boring, nothing remarkable you can't get for less $ someplace else that has better food and a less fake atmosphere. It's all this "new american" food that has very little character: it's basically glorified diner food! I found myself looking at the menu and thinking, I could have gone to a burger joint and gotten a cheaper, better burger - I can go to Applebees if I wanted to eat half this boring food. If you have to eat here, and have money to burn it's not terrible. But if you are looking for really good food and a non-yuppy, non-trying way too hard to be a hip downtown eatery, go someplace else!
