Perfect for a summer time drink and dinner - nicely vibrant atmosphere. GREAT food.

Just as good as E Village location
Hasn't disappointed me yet, whether it's the Village or Midtown location. Service, venue, ambiance, quality of food - keep it up!

Way too loud
This is a great addition to the neighborhood and I would return EXCEPT for the loud accoustics. We could not hear each other even standing up waiting for our table. The waiter could not hear us and had to lean way over...we could not hear each other when sitting down and my ears are still ringing. Let me be clear. You will not be able to hold a conversation of any kind. They are very busy so apparently dont care but there is no way I can subject myself to that much noise so sorry, cannot recommend.

Just as tasty as the East Village original
This place is HUGE! It looks like the original (white tiles, wood tables and chairs, chalk boards, etc.), but it seems to be 2-3 times the size. That said, it is sectioned off so you never have the impression you are dining in a catering hall. More importantly, nothing suffers because of the size. The wait staff was friendly and the service was great, and the food arrived in good time and was absolutely delicious! The night I went ribs were the special, and they were fall off the bone tender and with an excellent smoky/spicy sauce. My friend had the shrimp and grits, and they too were fabulous and like what we have had at the original location. No complaints at all really! In fact, just the opposite. I am delighted to have this walking distance from my apartment. If you have never been to The Smith, I recommend it for everything from comfort food to something a little more elevated. They also have a good wine and beer list (and cocktails for that matter). If you have been to and like the downtown one and have not been to this one, you will like what you find. I plan to try them for brunch too.

Great food, sorry service
Keep going for the value, I like a good steak, no longer expect a hello at the door or a smile at the bar. I'll keep going though, as long as the kitchen keeps it up. First review ever written... That speaks volumes

Pretty good
Nice addition to the neighborhood. the food was great, and so was the service, which was a pleasant surprise. however, they need to finesse their reservations. i made a reservation on opentable and still had to wait 25 minutes (though when I checked in, she said 5 minutes). also, the place is crazy loud... i think there are too many hard services. i was almost yelling to have a normal conversation.
