What a wonderful find on a cold Manhattan night. It's warm and cozy great place for a date. There are many lounges here as well as the restaurant. It's worth going back to experience the location if just for a drink after work. Although a mixed experience for me. It is a lovely place, warm and inviting. We were given a personal tour by the hostess (you know who you are). The service; our waitress was attentive, I take a point off due to the fact that my martini was flat (my husbands was not), she saw that I wasn't drinking it and offered to take it back and bring me a new one. What came back from the bar however was my original martini topped off as flat as it came to me. No blame to the waitress but to the bar staff. I'll know not to order a cocktail next time. The food as others have sad is amazing. Next visit I hope to get all 5.0

Went to the Shakespeare for lunch today. I was expecting some boring fare, but the food was awesome. Highly recommend the Scotch Eggs, the Tandoori Chicken and the burger. I'm definitely going back.

Fabulous find on E. 39th - simple English pub food with all the classics and more (all presented in a creative fashion). Transports you to London without having to wrestle with airport traffic. Exquisite interior design and amenable service, made us wish we could stay all afternoon. To top it off, desserts were to die for. Will make this our midtown destination.
