One of the best!
The Redhead is consistently one of the best restaurants in NYC. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, and great value.

Delicious!
My husband and I went for dinner last night and really enjoyed The Redhead. We went at 6:30 on a Saturday night, hoping that by showing up so early there wouldn't be a wait. No dice. We sat at the bar for about 40 minutes while waiting for a table. You can eat at the bar if you'd like, but we weren't in a rush and enjoyed our cocktails and waited. Once seated, we opted for 2 appetizers (gnocchi & duck gumbo) and 2 entrees (fried chicken & a pork stew special) to share. We also got the acorn squash as a side and it was my favorite thing we ate - it was so delicious. We were impressed with everything we ate and would gladly go back. The cookies with your check are a nice extra. The service was pretty good and the atmosphere could be amazing but the tvs at the bar kind of killed the ambiance for me. It's a little pricey ($5 for 2 biscuits), but worth it!

Timimg is everything...
.....when you get to a small, popular restaurant on a Friday night and get taken to the best seat in the house immediately. A red corner banquette. Food is sublime and only wish we had another stomach or more people to try some more appetizers like the pretzels or chips. Got the roasted tomato soup with OMG boursin bacon croutons. Hubs had the sublime fried cluck and I did an appetizer sized shrimp. Wasn't over the moon about the shrimp but it was tasty. The chicken came with yummy cornbread and an amazingly paired strawberry salad. Very cool. Too stuffed for dessert but sounded good. My only complaint was that it was a little fast--but that's expected on a Friday night and you have 20 tables. Will definitely come back. Need pretzels and cheese. Oh, and the Tomcat bakery rolls? Could've eaten 4 and called it a night.

Impeccable start to finish
I just had dinner with my boyfriend at The Redhead. The service was excellent, our waiter Michael was knowledgeable, polite and warm. The food was outstanding from the rolls to our appetizer and entree. I had the trout and my boyfriend had the ricotta dumplings, we had the wild mushroom, mascarpone flat bread for an app. So delicious! we were too full to eat dessert, so they gave us wrapped peanut butter cookies with our bill. We had a little corner booth and the lighting was perfect. very romantic. it was a perfect sunday night date and I will definitely go back because there was more on the menu i want to try. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Great little gem
Went last night for the first time and it was outstanding. I only wish we had ordered the Fried Chicken which smelled and looked fantastic. Definitely next time.

a lovely place
Last night I went to the redhead for the first time. The food and service was excellent and I will return very soon. The buttermilk fried chicken was amazing. Definitely order the chips and dip, you will never want to make it yourself again!

It's not Peanut Brittle!!
I read about their bacon peanut brittle in Time Out New York, so I hightailed it on over there to pick up a bag. It's not peanut brittle at all!! spicy peanuts with bacon bits. that's it.
