    waaaaay downhill

Its such a shame whats happening to this place. Such a great concept when the owner came up with this place. And i suspect its going downhill becuase the busier he gets the less involved he is with the day to day operations. The reason this was such a successful place, aside from the novel health concept was the amazing customer service oriented people they used to hire. You could always count on good service but for some reason this place turned completely ghetto and the people they hire now act all gangster and rude and lazy, blasting rap music, and goofing off... What a downward spiral from a year ago. I wish i knew the owner personally so i can say "hey man, your employees are ruining your once great business". But im sure they will figure it out at somepoint cause i know way too many folks who have stopped coming here altogether. Even the food is getting gross. Often stale, overcooked, random sized portions, sometimes big, sometimes meager, pacakged like a mess. Basically everything that made this restaurant different from most is gone.

    unfortunate experience

i'm writing this from bryant park, about 4 blocks away... i ordered the lemon chicken pita thing with carrot ginger dressing...maybe the person responsible for the dressing called in sick, but when i opened the wrapping, i saw no trace of said condiment. surprising especially since i was the only person in the establishment, so i couldnt imagine it being so busy that these types of midhaps are quasi-acceptable. i'm still 4 blocks away but i'm far too lazy, hot, annoyed and dry-mouthed (from consuming the tasteless, moistless chicken and whatever veggies) to walk all the way back to complain. for the price i paid, it's not worth going even remotely out of the way for what i ordered.

Great food for lunch or after the gym

I rarely write reviews, but I wanted to let people know how great this place is. The food is healthy, delicious, and simple. It's not like other health-food restaurants that try to make everything they serve gourmet. It's just good, satisfying food that I always feels good about eating. One negative is the atmosphere. There are counters but no tables, and it's just much better to get the food to go if you can. The second negative is the price. It isn't exactly cheap, but I don't mind paying extra because I personally feel like the food is worth it.

    My order was incomplete....

I went for the first time today and ordered the lemon chicken sandwich with a side of hummus. It's supposed to come with dressing on the side for the sandwich and pita for the hummus, but I didn't look in the bag before I left and they weren't there when I got back to my office. They were very nice and not the least bit busy (it was an off hour). The chicken was good, but not lemony. The humus eaten by spoon was good and probably would have been improved with pita. I'll probably give them another chance, although I'll have to be more pushy about getting my order.

Feel good the rest of the day

I just tried this place for the first time today. The first thing on the menu was the Grilled Lemon Chicken sandwich, which sounded good, so I got it. There were a couple of drawbacks to be perfectly honest. The chicken was very lean, but a little bit dry and could've used a little more lemon. And the pita fell apart immediately so I had to eat it with a knife and fork. A little annoying, but worth putting up with. The veggies were very fresh and good. And more importantly, after eating it I feel great. It's nice to get back to work and not feel badly because you ate some greasy cheeseburger or something. Definitely recommend this place and I'm looking forward to trying more things there.

Good option for fast, healthy food

I tried The Pump today for the first time and loved it! I was a little weary to try it after reading some of the reivews, but was pleasantly surprised. I had the falafel & hummus pita. It was stuffed full with fresh veggies and very light falafel and hummus. I can't wait to go back and try out something else!

    Excellent Healthy Food

I just discovered this place about a month ago, and I have begun a quest to try everything on their menu. So Far So Awesome. My favorite so far is the Rookie Steak Burger. A couple of the Supercharged plates have been too big for me. My afternoon strawberry banana shake has been a real pick me up.
