    Soup experience

I didn't get beyond the soup of the day - Manhattan clam chowder because it was spicy but had a very weak stock so it was weirdly bland. If a restaurant can't make good soup, I leave after that course.

    I love this place

I have been 3 times so far, and I have to say that I just love this place! Here are some things I have tried that were all fabulous: roasted chicken pizza with arugula pesto, shrimp and octopus - both from the hot tapas list, bucatini amatriciana, and scallops (not on menu, they were a special). The wine list is diverse in price points which is nice. The service can be quite spotty and it's a bit awkward because you are at a bar so they have to come up behind you. I think the value for the quality and portions is excellent. All in all, I think it's great and plan to go back many times.

The Perfect Restaurant for the Indecisive

I adored the ability to choose from several diverse menus simultaneously. I chose the brandade fritters, those delectable salt cod puree fritters derived no doubt, from a classic Brandade de Morue recipe, which I have unsuccessfully tried to replicate at home. Where else can you enjoy the finest kimchi, sliders, pizza, and quality side dishes in perfect sizes under one roof? After watching the chefs in their respective fishbowls, my daughter and I both felt their tremendous effort and work ethic. We hope they are compensated appropriately for their dedication under such scrutiny.

Great place for a casual meal

Great food at reasonable prices. The only downside is that it's bar seating -- so this place is not great for groups. But for a casual meal for two, it's quite nice.

    Excellent Value Great Food

We have been residents of this neighborhood for over 25 years and thought how could a food court fit in this area but we were shocked. It is wonderful just what we needed a place to go for great food, at a reasonable price. We have tried almost everything there and find it to be gourmet food, with great prices. It so much fun to watch them prepare the food in front of you and the staff is really out to please. All I can finish with is try it and you will be amazed from the delicious food to the great service and the casual dinning atmosphere. We are a regular of The Plaza Food Hall, and wish them them best. The only thing I wish if they had is ice cream or yogurt for desserts.

    Grandslam - 2 thumbs up

I absolutely loved it. This collection of foodbars (or foodcourt) is in the basement of the plaza hotel. The ambiance is sophisticated but not too formal. You can sit at any of the bars surrounding the different stations and order from any of the other food stations. The food was excellent - my dining partner and I had a few different items including the burgers and dumplings. Watching the food cooked in front of you is entertaining. The food was very fresh and tasty with appropriate portion sizes. The service was fabulous. Waiters and staff were constantly checking in to see how we were doing. My only negative on this is it was a little excessive and distracting. In the hour we were there, we estimated they checked in on us about 11 times by about 3 different staff people. That said, I would definitely come back again. Its a great place also to grab a drink and maybe have an appetizer. What I loved about this also is that as it is a little bit off the beaten bath (and maybe becuase it has only been open a few days) it was not very crowded and you did not get that cramped/claustrophobic feeling you so often get in many NYC restauarants. As mentioned earlier, the bar seating was nice and it was interesting to watch the various staff creating their dishes. Regarding pricing, being a new yorker, I thought the pricing given the location and food quality was appropriately priced (tourists may disagree).
