The Park

There were 2 hostesses that didn't crack a smile and didn't make you feel welcome. We were given an unclean table plus there was chewing gum on the adjacent window. We had to move our table .The fruit platter that we ordered was not brought to us and the waiter was shocked when we informed him . Pass on this place there are to many other restaurants in the area to choose from

I saw this restaurant while walking on the High line. It's large and beautiful inside! The garden area has trees inhabited by little brown birds that fly above you while your eating. It's like being in the park but at the same time inside a restaurant. They also have an expansive bar which is great since I don't always like the same liqours used for cocktails as everyone else. My server was a sweet lady but she obviously had not been waitressing for long. The bread that they bring you could be better. It's a little too thick and not enough flavor. Same with my order. I had the prociutto arugala pizza and a mojito. The mojito was good but the pizza could have been better with a more flavorful pizza sauce. It was kind of watered down. I had just missed lunch which was the menu I was most interested in so I think I will go back and try lunch. The dinner menu isn't so great and the veggies are out of season. Overall I enjoyed my time at this restaurant. Other than the table of loud adults next to me the place was peaceful and not too crowded.

I had guests from out of town who were going to galleries. This is a beautiful space, so well done. The butternut squash ravioli was wonderful, the free bread that came with the olive oil was disappointing (not as well herbed as it looked) but the olive oil was great. The small portion of pasta was enough for a reasonable lunch. Personally, I also had a side of broccoli rabe (which was just fine).

Nice ambience, average food, poor serviece (i.e. couldn't get the waiter to give us our check, charged for an item not recieved) and to top it off when I got home the back of my dress shirt had several droppings from the birds flying around in the restaurant..

We had an excellent brunch here. The atmosphere can't be beat.

I come to NYC only a couple of times a year on business - I love food & look forward to the excellent options that are available. I was recommended park by a business contact & the first time I ate here it was great. I decided to go back during the same trip & it was a completely different experience - food was disappointing to say the least. It was along the same lines as other reviews: took a long time although they weren't that busy, our red wine we ordered was poored without being tasted first for our approval & then placed in a wine bucket beside our table (what the?!) and left for us to pour for ourselves for the remainder of dinner. We had dishes arrive periodically, not by our server. They were brought out rather gruffly, announced and more or less slammed on the table by an anonymous bus boy. That's enough ranting & raving... Simply put, it is a beautiful space but it is completely unreliable.

I never do this but last night was rediculous. We arrived early for our reservation to find the restaurant 70% full but they would not sit us early, nor on time either. They gave us a table in the corner of the garden room away from any heaters and it was freezing! This was the third time that I came here with a large group for a party and the third time I left unhappy and wondering why when the space is great and people clearly are interested in coming to the place. Food wasn't bad and was reasonably priced - drinks are quite $$$.
