Palm
When my husband & I dine out in Manhattan or when we're away, we always look for a Palm restaurant. My husband loves steak so it's usually a good choice. The Palm West side was great when we went. We had excellent, friendly and knowledgeable service. My husband's steak was cooked as ordered and I had the fish my server suggested. It was beautifully prepared and tasted wonderful. It may be a little pricey but you get what you pay for. The placed was mobbed w/pre-theater groups but we were neither ignored nor rushed.

Don't go !
Too expensive for the quality, bad service, we had to way half an hour to seat with a reservation! Meat was good but you can find better, with a low price and a better service. Disappointing!

Great service, food. Loved it
This restaurant was recommended by our hotel Concierge and we really pleased with his suggestion. We had king shrimp cocktail, followed by Lobster and then a huge dessert. The food was excellent as was the service and I would happily recommend this restaurant to friends.

Way Better NYC Steakhouses
I was not impressed by this steakhouse, and would not come here considering there are about 1,000 better ones in NYC. First off, the atmoshere is ruined by the terrible interior design which consists of the cartoon faces of celebrities who have eaten here. In terms of food, the West Coast Gigi was quite good as an appetizer. Too bad it is such a small portion and that the staff forgot to put dressing on it. The steaks were fine, but nothing made them stand out. The same goes for the dessert menu. Overall, evertthing was quite bland and overpriced. The worst part was the wait staff constantly asking us if we wanted to become "Palm Members."

Mega Disappointment!!!!
I was really looking forward to dinner at The Palm West Side to celebrate a family reunion, after seeing the play Wicked (across the street). What a disapointment!!!! The atmosphere is very nice especially considering the theater location... but the food was boring at best. For example, my appetizer, the cold lobster was rubbery & tasteless. The East/West Coast salad was a dismal display of wilted lettuce & pale tomatoes...the Halibut entree seemed like it had been sitting around on a hot plate for ages before it was served... the Crab cakes were poorly seasoned & non-descript.... even the desserts were lacking - how can you fail at sorbet? key-lime pie? but they did!!!

No service at all
We arrived at the Palm on a Sunday evening (7/29) after calling to see if tables were available. We arrived after 8pm and the restaurant was less than half full. The hostess seated us and that was it. No one approached our table with menus, water or bread or any explanation at all for a service delay. We waited close to 10 minutes and we left. The hostess seemed surprised that we had no service and then the waitress came running up, but by that time it was too late. I heard good things about the restaurant and was anxious to try the steaks. A big disappointment!

consistent and good
Have no idea why people have negative reviews. I have eaten at all the Palm restaurants and have not been dissapointed. Appetizers were the crab and lobster cocktail, clams casino, shrimp and a salad. Main courses were the halibut, filet mingnon, NY strip steak and the soft shell crabs. Fries on the side. All the portions were big and service was very attentive. A nice cabernet with the meal and we were all set. Looking forward to returning.
