Wet-aged, not dry, yet no less expensive

The Palm Tribeca and the other satellite Palm restaurants serve wet-aged steak, unlike the original Palm, which serves dry-aged steak. Yet according to their current menus on Menupages, the Palm and the Palm Tribeca's same cuts of steak, at the same weights -- dry-aged at the Palm and wet-aged at the Palm Tribeca -- either cost the same or cost one to three dollars more than at the Palm Tribeca. Dry-aging is more flavorful -- and more costly, thanks to the long and carefully controlled process. Charging the same amount, or more, for wet-aged steak offers very poor value.

    Surf & Turf disaster

Was there last Saturday for the special Surf & Turf for two $85. For a steak house with such a good reputation it was disgraceful that such a tough piece of meat and full of veins throughout should be served. If they wanted to save money then they should give a smaller piece of meat and not one of poor quality. With all the steakhouses in New York City pick another one.

    Save your money and time

Poor service for what one would expect from a high end steakhouse. Ordered filet mignon medium and it was well done. Never going back...

    not recommended

i ordered a burger medium rare to go and received one that was very well done. it only had to travel across the street so the fact that it sat for one whole minute couldnt have caused it to cook further. such a well known steakhouse is unable to judge temperature of MEAT? additionally, the fries were greasy and soggy. at this price point its insulting.

    Don't Bother

    1. Service was very very very slow 2. There were multiple mistakes in the order 3. the lobster was definitely underweight 4. the steaks were either overcooked or undercooked 5. the steaks were not seasoned properly 6. the drinks are tiny 7. the mushrooms were too salty 8. the potatoes had no taste 9. the spinach was just poor. Needless to say we didn't have a good meal.

    Palm in Name Only

This place does not have the charm or gravitas of the original "too" uptown, but more concerning is that it certainly does not have the same food. I think this Palm caters to different crowd than the others. I noticed a lot of people taking advantage of special deals and prix fixe offers, which may be why the food tastes pre-made or assembly line finished. I did love the sides, but all in all we felt it wasn't worth it and was not a Palm experience.
