The Palm Too

The best meal I had in NYC, and trust me, I had many this past week! The service is impeccable, the atmosphere is wonderfully warm and elegant at the same time, and the food is absolutely moan out loud good!! And then there was the wine! What a wonderful treat for my 60th birthday!! Thank you to all, especially Chef Mike!

I was recently there on a Saturday night and I have to say it was FABULOUS. The staff were so gracious and patient with me. I needed my steak cooked just a little bit more and the manager on duty (Ben?) was beyond accommodating and helpful. The cheesecake is as good as they say and the entire vibe, from the staff, the customers, the music they play, everything, was great!! I'll be back, again, and again.

I have eaten here many times and the food is always second to none. The fillet steaks are enormous and very well cooked. I have never seen Lobsters quite the size of the ones here either. Am going back to the UN plaza in December and this will be my first stop. Love the atmosphere here too.

I have been in many steakhouse in NYC, this was my first time at the Palm, since I am always looking to know more places having to bring clients around and often for dinner. I went for lunch by myself and they looked like they were "unhappy" of me eating alone. The waiter told me that their salad was big, too big for one person, he seems to be worried about my weight (I am pretty in good shape..) and said that he was going to serve me a reduced portion (not at a reduced price), this was the first bad sign. Then my steak arrived, and I have to say that it didn't compare with what I have a few days before in another steakhouse for the same price. It was average quality, I can do better if I buy a steak and cook it myself. Then the "creme brulee" for dessert was ok, no more than that. Espresso was very good, the best thing I had. Considering the price this price is not in my list.

I have been going to Palm Too for over 25 years and have always loved it. The staff was great, food was delicious and plentiful and it always flet like a little club. NO MORE. Yes, the staff is still very nice but the food has gone so down hill and the portions so calculated that it has become embarassing. I have eaten at other Palms lately and while not as bad still not nearly keeping up with the competetion. I love the Monday night salad and while still good it must be weighed as the portion is so small now. Let's get serious here...we are talking salad. The Shrimp Bruno were just unappetizing. The veal parm was just shy of burnt and this for $33.00 with no side. My filet was ice cold in the middle and returned only slightly better after I returned it. But nothing was as bad as the prime rib which looked like it had been sitting around for at least a week. They should be ashamed to serve that. With all the great steak houses in New York you need to be getting better and not significantly worse especially when you are charging top dollar.

I go there many time and they can't cook my steak right. It's always come over cook so I order a 5 ps lobster. I was playing that they won't over cook it. I go there for lobster not for steak. One time me and my friends went there for birthday party and we ordered surf and tuff, that was very disappointing cos everything was so dry. This place is not for me when I want a good steak.

My wife and i were looking for nice easy going lunch.Happened upon here.The Prix Fixe lunch (steak) was excellent.The staff were friendly and the service was good.No rush.Meal came cooked correct and it was very good.The dessert,chocolate Cake was out of this world.We had a very good experience and will return.
