    You call this NY Pizza?

I have only returned to this place for convience sake. I have been a new yorker my whole life and this pizza is sub-par. Might rank higher in another city but real new yorkers know good pizza when they taste it and this is not good pizza. Plus, I walked in there one to inquire to the price of their beer. They gave me an awfully high price.

Best pizza in UES. No question, people.

Great pizza, particularly their plain slice - made superior by their particularly rich and sweet tomato sauce (which also gives, appropriately, "zest" to their chicken parmigian dishes). It's fast, and relatively cheap compared to the competition, surprising given the pretty steep difference in quality. Atmosphere does lack - they often have sports blaring in the background, so I recommend pickup/delivery. But you can't beat the quality of this place, particularly at the price.

I disagree with everyone on this page. I think they have the BEST dough in all the tri-state area. Maybe you guys should venture out a little and see how bad everybody else's pizza stinks. The one thing that i do miss is the service that i and a lot of the other clients miss is this one guy that used to work there. I believe he was the owners cousin if i am not mistaken. he was very customer friendly and he made the BEST food around.

Can't vouch for the pizza but...

The heros/cold cut sandwhiches are very very good. I order from here regularly and i would recommend the place.

Average NYC pizza... but good selection

Zesty's has always been a good choice cause no one really dislikes their pizza... but it's not great. For NYC (high) pizza standards... it's average. But I love their stuffed shells. .. and they have a good selection of others: Pastas, Salads, Sandwitches.

    Convenient? Maybe. Tasteless? Definitely

I agree with the previous reviewer. There are only a few other options for a slice in the immediate vicinity, but literally anything is better than this place. The crust is too doughy and undercooked, the cheese never seems to melt properly, and the sauce is uninspired. Try European pizza on 92nd & 3rd or Antonella's on 2nd & 94th.

    You can do much better...

If you're in the upper 90s on 3rd or 2nd, you can do much better than this place. Uninspired slices and terribly undercooked pies; I've had to plead with them to keep pizzas in the oven just a bit longer. I've been crusading for Antonella's on Second bet. 94th and 95th for some time now. Blows away Zesty. The benefits of the latter are: delivery of food and drinks until quite late at night, beats the hell out of Ray's (lesser of two evils), pretty wide selection until around closing time. Honestly, though, unless you're just getting off the train and need a quick bite or it's just past last call, opt for Antonella's, or even Piazza on 86th.
