The Little Owl

I came to The Little Owl prepared for a true epicurean experience. Had high expectations. And wasn't disappointed. The space is small, but airy and bright, the service casual, but attentive to all the details. The food, well excellent. My friend and I started with two appetizers, the scallops on spinach and lobster risotto and softshell crabs. I was especially partial to the crab -- crunchy and sweet with subtle spicing that gave every bite a new sensation. The entrees (both fish) were amazingly fresh and well-cooked. The wine list was affordable, but clearly researched and provided perfect accompaniment to the range of menu options. I'll definitely return, and bring as many more friends as the spot will allow.

My friends and I visited The Little Owl after hearing great reviews from other friends. The space is small but they have maximized and managed to keep it from feeling squeezed or crowded. The food was delicious, from beginning to end. We all tried different appetizers. The meatball sliders were excellent as was the pasta appetizer. We were disappointed that there was no duck appetizer on the menu that night but it gives us a good excuse to go back and try it. One of my friends and I shared the chicken and the pork chop entrees. The best was that they divided the dishes in the kitchen so it made sharing much easier. It was hard to decide which dish was better. Simple dishes made mouth watering because of the sauces and different seasonings. And I recommend the asparagus home fries....This restaurant is a wonderful new find and I can't wait to go back.
