The Financial DIstrict Needs This
If you live in the financial district than you are familiar with the dirth of quality restaurants. This restaurant has a fascinating menu that delivers tasty dishes. I had brunch here and the lobster omelette definitely had its own flair. The atmosphere is old new york kitched up with a hip bent. I have found the brunch spot for me and my gf, the quiet end of the night drink spot, and a local hangout. Who cares if its expensive - you can get cheap eats elsewhere.

Terrific time at Libertine
Very fun place...feels like a private club in London...tufted leather and houndog wallpaper and crimson lighting like being inside a bottle of brandy... Food was tasty...and rich and decadent in a way...lots of cheese and cruncy buttery fatty treats...love it! Such a refreshing change from the minimal low carb low cal revolution...real food presented in whimsical ways...like the caviar sliders and everything fries... Service was solid...not uber...but solid in a neighborhoody way...not overly done or too hands on...they let you hang...which is good. Has a feel of being in a locals spot even though its in the middle of a hotel... Highly recommended!

Fancy name - and that's about it
If you like the sound of fire drills (courtesy of Thompson Hotel) and the waiter telling you they can not modify your order, you will love this place. While the service was below-average, the food was indeed good. May want to wait a few weeks before going as they are still working out several of the kinks of a new restaurant.
