Wonderful, once again!
Kiosk has become a family favorite and always worth the drive from CT to NYC. Last night was no different as we celebrated my husband's birthday in true Kiosk style, with the incredibly flavorful, interesting dishes & impeccable service we have come to know & enjoy. Favorite appetizers include the garlic shrimp & Mediterranean platter, but last night we were treated to amazing spinach & feta triangles. Seafood couscous is our daughter's choice - always - but last night we also all enjoyed traditional Moroccan couscous with a blend of lamb, chick peas, sweet potatoes & caramelized onions. Unbelievably delicious! Perfectly tender & sweet lamb shanks were another favorite entree & dessert included both of our family favorites, a warm brownie & the BEST strawberry shortcake. The warm welcome makes us feel like part of the family at Kiosk. It is a VERY special restaurant and an excellent value.

Disappointing
Horribly disappointing. My guess is that business is tough for this place these days, but that's no excuse to take advantage of people. Everything on our appetizer and main course plates, with the possible exception of the meat, was canned or frozen food, including the hummus (trust me, I know the taste of canned hummus), babaganoush, and the vegetables. They didn't even try to hide the fact that the vegetables were from the supermarket frozen section by frying them in a pan! The couscous -- and keep in mind this is a Moroccan restaurant -- was seriously the boxed couscous that you find in the store... Only I think they forgot to add the spice pack. The "merguez" sausages were like breakfast links. Given the price of food, I felt insulted and taken advantage of, all the more so since I brought friends there from out of town. I highly recommend staying away from this place. If you want food from North Africa and the Middle East, unfortunately you still have to go to Astoria.

Sumptuous Maroccan
We have yet to visit this place but we order from them regularly. Everything we have tried has been really good to downright spectacular. It's simple really good food that's reasonably priced. The hummus and babaganoush are delicious. The Merguez platter is one of our faves. The brownie, when they do have it, is decadent and not to be missed. The owner is great and very personable. One of these of the days we hope to actually visit this place instead of ordering all the time.

Fine Moroccan in Harlem
We picked this place for a weekday evening b/c of their high rating by 15+ reviewers and we were not disappointed. Attentive service, decent non-tacky atmosphere, and best of all, good Moroccan authentic fare that was presented nicely. We had 4 different apps and 6 different entrees and each of us enjoyed. Dinner and apps for 6 was $155 + tip. Perhaps I would've preferred a Moroccan beer, but otherwise, this small place is worth a visit in our view. Note that we didn't try the hookah.

Best Neighborhood Spot in East Harlem
After searching for neighborhood spots with great atmosphere, near our East Harlem home, my boyfriend and I finally found Kiosk. We love it! The food is delicious, the owner is just great, and the place is so cozy. The value is wonderful, and Kiosk is everything you want in a local restaurant. Best food choices are: middle eastern platter, goat cheese arugula salad, garlic shrimp (soak up the delicious sauce with some pita), seafood cous cous, lamb kebab, and a lamb wrapped in puff pastry (can't think of the name). Great wine selection, plus amazing desserts. Everyone we've taken to this place has loved it, and my parents love it so much that they come down to the city from CT about once a month for dinner here.

No flavor added
I love mediterranean food because of the flavor. Sadly, the food I ordered had NO flavor. It was really disappointing. It wasn't very authentic. I will never order from here again.
