The Kingswood

This was my 2nd time at Kingswood. Food was really great as I remembered it to be. I made an 8:15 reservation for 3 and it was about a 30 minute wait. We couldn't wait at the bar since it was full, so we just stood there even though there was a 4 top available. I asked about it but the hostess said that it was reserved for a party of 4..I'm thinking, what's the difference between 3 people vs 4 people? You'd have to seat each at a 4 top regardless. Anyway, after we were seated and our food arrived everything was cooked perfectly. My complaint is the service. The waiter was very rude and uninterested in waiting on us. We were very polite but he just couldn't be bothered. Even the simplest request of wine suggestions, he seemed annoyed and his suggestion was the complete opposite of what I wanted. I spoke to the manager who checked in with us often and told him about it. He brought me a taste of something else and then ultimately got me a cocktail that was amazing! After we finished our meal, our waiter asked us if we needed anything else, to which we replied yes,a dessert menu.I'm pretty sure he rolled his eyes and when he returned, he threw the menus at us!

My husband and I went to dinner w/ another couple and although the atmosphere is beautiful, the service is that of a diner at best! Bartenders are full of themselves for no good reason & our waiter didn't even greet us, but just wanted to know if we were ready to order right after we sat down... Def not worth going back - too bad b/c the food was decent.

Really enjoyed all aspects of this restaurant. The staff was wonderful and the food was delish!

Gorgeous restaurant ... would imagine great place for a drink ... but it has mediocre food... expensive wine prices... S-L-O-W, S-L-O-W service. There are so many better places in Gotham City.

My food was covered in salt. In fact there was so much salt that I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't sleep for hours. If you like that much salt you will like this place. The service was below average. And I loved how they tagged a mandatory 20% tip on top of the overpriced bill. The truffle mac and cheese was ok.

The word "truffle" is on menu FOUR times, what elae needs to be said.. Awesome spot for drinking and eating (anything with truffle, asparagus app), great wines (tablelands), cool peole

I love this place. I have been here on multiple occasions and they have the BEST burger in town. However, they do not know how to cook it correctly. I ordered a medium rare burger and it came out well done. So I sent it back and then it came out medium. This did not stop me from eating it. It was just as delicious as the other times I have had it but cooking a burger is not rocket science. So the moral of the story is next time I will be ordering a rare burger in hopes for a med-rare. The other dinners I was with had excellent meals. Service was not spectacular. We had to ask for refils on our coffee. And the upstairs bathroom, was not the cleanest it could have been. With all my complaining I will be back without a doubt. Their Bronte burger is my favorite. And an added bonus when i go back at night is that they have a Montepulciano by the glass on their wine list.
