bartenders
If you come here, go to a table, never the bar. The bartenders are semi-psychos. They make no eye contact whatsoever and are insulting. You can come here ten times, but if the bartender walks through the bar and is not on duty, he or she will pretend not to know you. It is fine to come to this establishment, overall it is not bad, but do not go to the bar--tables only.

BEST. RESTAURANT. EVER.
I have been to this place about 10 times and it has yet to let me down. Though on occasion I've had some slow service, in general it has been more than fine. EVERY item I have ever ordered off the menu has been delicious and a generous serving. I highly recommend the chicken pesto sandwich, any burrito, the queso fundido, and the peppercorn french fries. Sitting out on the rooftop is great and even when it's chilly they have heaters going. If you're on the UWS and looking for somewhere with a diverse menu and low prices, this is it!

Wonderful brunch!
My husband and I love the brunch at the Heights. The food is consistently delicious, and the portions extremely generous. Service is always friendly, even if occasionally inattentive. Go during the spring/summer when you can sit on the rooftop deck!

Incredible! My favorite NYC restaurant
I have been eating at the Heights regularly for five years and am long overdue to write a review singing its praises. I LOVE this restaurant - incredible food, great music and ambiance, best margaritas in NYC, friendly staff, and a fabulous roof-top dining area open nearly year-round. During my Columbia days, I practically had a meal plan here (the lunch specials are unbeatable - $6 for dinner sized portions). Selfishly, I have thought of withholding my rave review for fear that the restaurants may become even more popular. Thank you Heights - I love you.

Go for Brunch
The cheapest and best brunch in Morningside Heights. Avoid this place at night unless you like drunk Columbia students. However, the brunch here is amazing. Your meal comes with a free fruit cup and dirt cheap booze. Start you Saturday off right with eggs ardu and a $3 pintglass-sized margarita. The home-made hollondaise sauce is to die for, the hash-browns are amazing, and they serve the best french toast I have ever eaten.

Happy Hour Restaurant
This is a restaurant that I'd call Happy Hour Restaurant: you go for Happy Hour. With two daily Happy Hours (5-7pm and 11pm-1am), there's always people here at nights. Popular to the local college kids, this place is always packed, especially for dinner. $3 pint sized margaritas during Happy Hour definitely make this place worth visiting. The food is... decent.

Disappointment
After coming here since i moved to the upper west side two years ago, the heights has disappointed me. The service was no good. I usually enjoy coming to the heights to hang out after a week of work. However, a week ago coworkers and I came to the heights only to be turned off by the service. We were greeted with people that did not want to serve us. They just ushered us onto the rooftop (which is not problem), but it was empty everywhere. Why couldn't we sit on the first floor? The service on the rooftop was great! We closed our tab and then we sat for 45 minutes without anyone asking if we wanted to order anything else. When we went to get the waitress she told us if we were just going to drink we should leave because they needed the tables for people who were going to order food. I was going to order food. They walked over us and ignored us for another 30 minutes. We asked for the manager and although given a round of margaritas, completely treated us as if we were a bunch of college students looking to get drunk. Definitely not the case. It was a disappointing experience.
