Great lunch
I used to frequent Halcyon when they were on Norman Ave, and followed them to their new space on Banker. The soups and sandwiches are really amazing. The crack steak really is addictive. The seafood chowder is some of the best I've ever had. I work from home a lot so it's great to be able to run around the corner, grab something delicious and reasonably priced and head back home, with a peanut butter bliss cookie as an afternoon snack.

Their sandwiches are beyond amazing!
I became aware of the halcyon gourmet after reading on the Met Opera website about the 'Nixon in China' sandwich. I had it this past Thursday, and it was unreal (short ribs with chinese sauces- omg)... I went back on Friday and had their crack stead sandwich, and it was even better. I had no idea this place existed, and cannot think of a better place for lunches and sandwiches in Greenpoint (or in Brooklyn or in NYC for that matter!)... Its going to a habit- but i'm gonna have to stay away from the cookies- they are too addictive, and summer is around the corner (as I long for one of their cookies!)
