I've only really had the pizza here. Next time I go I'll try a hero or a pasta dish. I've had the grandma style, regular and I tried a slice with chicken marsala on it. All very good. But when it comes down to it the best way to judge a pizza joint is by their regular slice. While not earth shattering the regular slice at The Grotto is very good. The sauce is very good and tasty. The slices are not overly greasy which is a big deal breaker with me. Decent cheese. Decent crust. The slices are very fairly priced especially compared to other places in the area. On Tuesdays they have a much appreciated special of two slices and a small fountain drink for $5.

I have been going to The Grotto for years now and have never had an issue. The food is delicious, the service, superb, and the atmosphere is excellent. I would recommend it to anyone. It great.

I recently went to Grotto Pizzeria for the first time on a reference from a friend, and I was in for a pleasant surprise. The pizza was the best I've had in a while and the staff was very pleasant. I would reccomed it to all.

Pretty foul if ordering for dinner. May be better at lunch, but stay away after 3:00 PM food looks and tastes like it's been sitting in a dish bin for half the day...On the plus side, the apple dessert pie is pretty good. Even for the Financial District this place is arse...

Ordered pizza slices via Seamless web as usual. It took over an hour for delivery. The slices had crust almost an inch thick unlike other times where our orders came thin crust. Called to see if they could fix the problem, and the person on the line gave me a diatribe on why I shouldn't order on Fridays because they are too busy. After that beating, he then told me they always have delivered thick crust slices and that I was a lier. So, we're never ordering from Grotto again. (Food was never very good anyway.)

Great pizzas with good toppings... try the grilled shrimp (NOT the breaded shrimp). By far the best thing on the menu is the cookies (chocolate chip, peanut butter, and sugar), make sure you put your order in before 10:30 to get them.

dont let the subterranean entrance fool you. the food is much better than what you would find in a dungeon. actually the food is consistently good. the pizza is sturdy, and there are plenty of styles to choose from. calzones are generous and delicious. try the buffalo chicken tenders if you are totally blowing your diet. friendly staff, but watch your head if dining in (low ceiling). not a date place, but a great "havin lunch with your buddies" place to fill up on the cheap.
