    Fantastic Birthday Dinner!

Went to The Grocery for the first time last week for my husband's birthday. The owners (the chef and his wife) could not have been nicer. I called a few days in advance and said we were coming for a birthday -- they gave us a fantastic corner table without my even asking. Everything we ate was delicious. We loved the duck, the scallops and the fried artichokes. They had many different bottles of wine open for a table doing a tasting menu and gladly offered us tastes of several before we chose the bottle we wanted to order. It's the kind of place where I would love to be a regular and where I know they would remember us if we went back.

    So Good!

I recently tried Grocery for the first time and it was amazing. There was 4 of us so we tasted lots of different things and everything was delicious. The desserts were also amazing. I recommend this place highly. My only wish is that the dinner portion size were just a bit larger.

    My New Favorite....

Ate at The Grocery last night with 4 friends: food, service, and atmosphere were 5 stars. We can't wait to go back. Fried Artichokes were fantastic, as was the Grilled Lamb. I tasted the Chicken dish which was also really good. A must go to if you are looking for great food!

good food, but a little over priced

My husband and I ate at The Grocery this past weekend. The food was quite good, however it wasn't worth 28 dollars a plate. They only have a few bottles of wine by the glass, and the quality did not meet the price. We have payed a pretty penny for a meal in the past and thought we got our money's worth, but not here. The desserts are fantastic (we tried the cheesecake and the peach cobbler). The servers did their jobs but all seemed to be personality-less. We'll give it another shot, but it didn't blow me away.

    Out of this World!

Worth a trip from Manhattan. The fried artichokes are amazing, the duck is spetacular and the place is wonderful... small but the service is great! go go go

    The real deal

We had a special anniversary meal here recently, and sprung for the price fixed meal with wine -- definitely the high end of what we would ever spend to eat and drink. We told our waiter we ate fish but no meat or poultry and left it to them. The results were extraordinary. The food and wine selections were first rate and just kept on coming, and the service was superb -- not at all stuffy but appropriately attentive. It was a beautiful evening to eat outside. We chatted it up with the couple at the next table, and generally had a wonderful experience. It will be a while before we drop similar bucks at a restaurant, but when we do, this will be the place.

    PHENOMENAL

I can honestly say my meal at The Grocery was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The place isn’t much too look at, but what they slightly lack in ambience they make up in every other aspect. This is dining at its best. I first spoke with a woman (who turned out to be the chef and owner) on the phone to make a reservation and when we arrived she remembered me and came over to the table several times throughout the meal. Our waitress was engaging, but not overbearing; competent and not snooty. The chicken with waffles appetizer was exquisite and the bronzino appetizer was perfection. The lamb with ratatouille and the duck breast were both cooked perfectly with incredible flavors. The panna cotta desert was to die for. Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time, especially in bad weather when the garden is not open. I would eat at The Grocery every week.
