Best little Mexican place that nobody knows
I've been going here FOREVER (10 years or so) and love it. The owners are very pleasant, the food is always of high quality and the flavors are delicious. It's a BYO joint so I like to bring in wine and enjoy with friends. I've brought at least a couple dozen friends in here and turned many of them on to this place. It deserves more attention although, secretly, I like the fact that it's never terribly crowded and that it flies a bit under the radar. The only thing I've had which I must admit I don't like is the guacamole. Tried to like it but it's just not right. The pork tinga and the potato and jalapeno quesadilla totally rock my world though! Mmm.. I'm hungry just thinking about it!

Pretty Pretty Good
Not a slam dunk, but has the best tortilla soup that has real spice. Tacos are good as well. I have tried almost everything here and it's all pretty good. For the price though this is a no brainer.

great tacos!
The tacos here are always fresh and delicious. And the hot salsa is *really* hot and flavorful!

Get anything with Picadillo!
I'm from California and this is the best Mexican food I've found in NYC. The picadillo is ridiculous(ly good).

Great Hole in the Wall Mexican
Great Mexican food at a good price. Love their Enchiladas de Mole and their Guacamole. The space and decor may not be the fanciest around, but the food is definitely worth it.

Freshest food on UWS
Been coming here from the day it opened.I am from L.A. This is not Cali Mex food, but that doesn't exist in NYC (please spare me any rec. for L.A. mex in NYC. Been here 28 years. It doesn't exist) But this food is very fresh and very, very good. Homemade salsas are amazing. I have literally taken probably 50 people here over the years and everyone has loved it. It's a takeout place basically so don't expect atmosphere. One of the few places in my neighborhood that i can actually eat at. UWS still sucks for food overall.

Flautas to die for!
I had never tried flautas before getting them from this restaurant. I'm not a particular fan of Mexican food in general, but I've become so addicted to the flautas that I order from this place at least once a week. I've never eaten in the restaurant, but I strongly, strongly recommend it - a great value for fabulous food!
