    Not worth it

Cute spot, solid menu, overpriced with poor service to boot. Seltzer was flat. Portions were tiny. Prices were way too high. Service was aloof.

    All around great

I have to say, while it's definitely not the cheapest option in town, I have thoroughly enjoyed both of my dining experiences here, once on a date with my boyfriend and once with a big group of friends. I thought the service was excellent, we all loved our food, and the drinks were delicious. I'm surprised that all the recent reviews aren't better, to be honest.

    Major Attitude

All I can say is attitude is learned and comes from the top, no? I have been to General Green a few times and theres always a major attitude going on. Thought Id give it another try for my friend and have decided thats it - no more. The food is very good - but the dishes are small and the attitude is major. Life is too short to be treated as if the waiters are a guest in your home. The busboys hover around your table ready to snatch away plates and considering they advise you to share plates I found that incredibly annoying. Behavior like this is taught from higher ups. Theres so many places where the vibe is relaxed and the service is happy -- not arrogant.

    Cute

LOVE their sides of mashed potatoes, fries, and mac n cheese. It's a little pricey but those mashed potatoes are worth it! The grocery in the back is adorable!

    Disappointing Breakfast

Wanted somewhere for breakfast on a weekday. Food was sad and minimal for the price. Waitress was apathetic. Eggs were runny. Coffee was bitter. All around not an exciting experience.

    Not recommended

Long story short, this place ruined my birthday. I rescheduled my reservation at the superb no. 7 because I was running late and didn't want to rush the experience. It was after 9 and I wanted something decent, so my boyfriend and I ventured down dekalb. I settled here because I was starving. The service was sub par, the food took forever to come despite how empty it was and the food was meh - just ok, nothing special. Everyone knows food tastes better when you're hungry - and i was starving, so it's probably worse than I remember. We had the deviled eggs - which was one egg btw, mac n cheese, green beans (the worst of the lot! $8 for a crappy small portion), the steak (we shared) and a single cocktail - it came to $100 with tip and i nearly lost my dinner when I saw the bill! We had a phenomenal dinner the next night at no. 7 - 2 apps, 2 mains and 2 cocktails came to just over $100. Wis I hadn't wasted my time - still upset over the experience and it was 3 months ago.
