The Flame Diner screwed up my order gave me a coffee instead of a tea if you order from them go through the phone either they do not know how to read delivery.com or delivery.com web page provided an error. The other part is that i wanted a tea light and sweet and they gave me a coffee that was small for $1.60.. Unbelievable prices way too high.. The food is good but buyer beware.. Argued with the guy for 5 minutes on the phone too. I always thought the customer is always right

We go to Manhattan often. This is one of the best little diners to eat at. They have everything you could imagine and bar service to boot! Staff are extremely friendly and the prices are reasonable for Manhattan!

Having arrived from London mid-afternoon it took a while to get oriented. Staying in a hotel on W57th so the Flame was just around the corner. Had a meal our first night then breakfast the following six mornings. Never anything but fast friendly helpful service. Prices were reasonable. Food was tasty.

i live in the 'hood and used to frequent the Flame. A typical diner, which is sometimes exactly what you want, but then....I went away for a while and when I returned something happened. The staff seems to have taken a surly pill and the prices? $12 for a vegetarian egg white omelet? Are you kidding me?

We (my wife, 3 teens and I) were on holiday in NY for the first time ever in July 2010. We're from Northern Ireland, the home of bad service and rip-off pricing. We tried The Flame for breakfast one morning and ended up going back every day! We had a couple of evening meals in it as well. The restaurant was extremely clean, the staff efficient and friendly and the food of good standard. Would definately recommend it to any visitor and look forward to going back when we're next in NY.

Typical of old-time diners, but one dish stood out: buckwheat pancakes, hard to find elsewhere -- they were delicious.

A go-to for breakfast or a late night grilled-cheese with tomato & bacon. Service is quick. What do you want - to make new friends with the waiter? Of course they are rude it is a diner - take my order and don't F-around...I just want my food correctly and quickly without being bothered and that is what you get. They are always accomodating to my 2-year old and we have a nice time here.
