Had a great time
Food was perfect and plenty. The chicken is the best though. Surprised to get so much vegetables with it too. Enjoyed the Ethiopian beer.

Excellent Place
I have been here 5 times now over a year, and every time it has been wonderful! The service is friendly, the decor pleasant, but really you come to this restaurant for the food. I recommend the combo dishes for a first-timer- if you order the "Ethiopian Combo" and the Vegetarian Combo, then you get about 10 different foods to share between two people.

cute, hits the spot
My husband and I actually love this place. Sure, it's not the BEST Ethiopian in the city but it's great when you want a quiet, ethnic date night on the UES. The food is good, the service is genuine and sweet, the atmosphere is simple and quiet. Give it a try!

bland
Have tried this place once and thought the food (the combo plate) was pretty bland and the portion sizes could have been a little larger. However, there didn't seem to be a lot of added fat, which is a good thing, and that could account for some of the blandness. Also, the decor/atmosphere is nice and serive was fine, so I'll definitely try again.

Se Magnifique
Went there last night. Great service. Waitress made it really special. Whatever we wanted. For us Upper East Siders, this restaurant is a special treat. Get the chicken, vegetables and lamb. I liked the Ethiopian music also.

No taste
I know you can't be too picky since it's the only Ethiopian Restaurant in the UES, but the food was just not tasty at all. My girlfriend and I split the Ethiopian Combo, and we were pretty disappointed. When they brought it out they told us that they were out of lamb, so they just gave us extra chicken. We are very polite so we just ate it, but who waits until the food is served to tell you that you can't have what you ordered. Won't go back.
