    Pretty good!

At first I thought the brunch menu was a bit limited and just went for the burger...turns out the burger was absolutely amazing! A little nosy but overall great atmosphere and waitstaff was lovely.

    I don't get it

Wow. What's with all of the hype? The drinks were so expensive and only mediocre. The chicken was good, it really was. But I would NOT come here for fish. (Of course, I wouldn't go back anyway.) My cod was very overcooked. As in, hard. The shrimp was fishy. Too-cool guys all over and way too noisy. I don't know. Maybe it's just not my thing. But I wouldn't spend my hard-earned cash there again.

    Ok...I guess.

Overall agree with the tone of the other reviews. Went there for lunch yesterday and came away feeling...meh. Atmosphere is the highlight. Food was ok. I had the fried chicken wich was good but honestly just a bit below KFC's original recipe. Think regular fried chicken with lawry's seaon salt. The wife had the burger...which as also good...not great. I think the place is too expensive for what you get but not oppressively so. And a $4 diet coke should come with free refills. I'm just saying. I'm glad I went but am in no hurry to get back any time soon. We didn't have the oysters....maybe that's where we went wrong.

    Not up to expectations.

My girlfriend and I had a reservation and showed up 20 minutes early and were polite with the hostess. After having a nice but pricey cocktail at the bar, she informed us that they would only have space for us at the oyster bar. Apparently a number of patrons, who they didn't anticipate showing up, did, and our reservation was bumped. Nice. The food was certainly good but not excellent. The oyster sliders and beet salad were nice. Beef rib was bland. The service was poor. No guidance on the food selection except for "people seem to order across the menu." Ha! She took our order then we never saw her again. Bussers were polite and attentive but the wait person should at least stop by to check that everything came out okay. Not coming back.

    Really Don't Bother

The good: Very nice maitre d's and waiter. The ok: Decent fried chicken, mediocre ribs, half-baked biscuits. The bad: The slowest service I've ever experienced. Overpriced. (Over $90 for lunch for two.) Ridiculous decibel levels. Seriously, not worth the dough or the effort.

    Big Disappointment

I love Locanda Verde so I couldn't wait to try Carmellini's new place. As it proved impossible to book in advance, we walked in at 5 on a rainy Sunday night. We waited in the bar for the dinner hour. The martini was skimpy and poorly made. The bartender was surly. Others at the bar complained about their drinks. My husband tried one of the wines from the limited list. It was awful. The dinner menu was very limited & uninteresting with only one special. They do not serve real bread, only bland cornbread, which is not a fit for many of the items on the menu, like for instance the pasta dish and most of the fish selections. The tuna tartar was tasty, but needed some sort of crunchy chip as an accompaniement. The swordfish was overcooked, a no-no in such a pricey restaurant. The pasta was OK, but nothing special. We did NOT order dessert. Enough was enough. The service was well meaning but very amateurish. All in all, a great disappointment by what I considered a talented chef!

Decent food, amateur service, frat boy crowd

Feel compelled to write a review because the people who touted this as some new hot must-try foodie restaurant must be talking about some place else. The food was fine, I enjoyed it, but nothing spectacular...there are at least 15 restaurants within a 6 block radius with food just as good, let alone in the whole city. The service was not rude, in fact they seemed to try hard in a chicken with their heads cut off sort of way, the servers were obviously not seasoned pros. Nothing was smooth. Really basic things like giving you the wrong fork, coffee arriving after dessert, need reminder to fill water, stuff like that. All the talk about celebrity must have been leaked by the promoter. There were no hot people, full of frat boys (not the young with hot body kind). Cammie D wouldn't be caught dead there, Ashley Greene maybe, but I can't see an A-lister there. The frat boys are all holding a beer or martini trying to look cool laughing at some joke standing a foot away from you when you are trying to enjoy your dinner. I don't regret going but will not return.
