We decided to try THE DISH for a special dinner to celebrate my birthday We couldn't have been happier! We made a reservation in advance and got a terrific table by the upstairs window. The service was excellent and attentive without being overbearing. We split a hummus appetizer; there was plenty for three.I had the duck which was simply wonderful . All in all, a terrific experience, great food and service, a very nice value for the money

The service and atmosphere were great but the food was not.The lamb chops were over-cooked, the baked potatoes burnt on the outside and not cooked in the middle. The pasta was bland and had no flavor. It was very hard to leave a tip, the service was fine but the food was not good, and this is not the waiters fault. There are plenty of restaurants in Chelsea, so avoid this one.

There is a diner called The Dish it’s located in heart of Chelsea. This place has everything you need when your fridge is empty and you don’t feel like cooking. It doesn’t matter if you come for a Sunday brunch or a late supper during the week. The food always tastes good, especially when the oatmeal chicken is on the menu. Lets summon this place up. The service = Great (they make you feel like you’re visiting some ones home). The price of the food = You won’t believe how much food you get for the price you pay, which by the way it’s way better than most diners in NYC.

Really GOOD tuna melt's on seven grain bread. I can't eat the whole sandwich so it also makes for a great leftover. Very cool place and service. A gem on 8th.
