New supper club
Went to The Darby on saturday nite with 5 of my friends. The restaurant was so loud and so dark,we couldn't have a conversation with out yelling the food was just eh. They have the nerve to charge $25 per person plus tax &gratuities for the live entertainment.that is such a rip off. The band wasn't even good. the bill for dinner was sky-high and not worth even half of what they charged. I will never ever go back.

Disappointing food, good entertainment
We went here for a client presentation dinner. When we arrived the place was packed. We had to wait over 1.5 hour extra for our table (no explanation why you go over a set time). It took us a additional 30 minutes to order the food and another 30 to get it in. Once it arrived it was a huge disappointment. Lack of taste, grease and no finesse what so ever to the plates in terms of how it's served. Don't bring a foodie here or someone who is used to quality and really good cuisine, there are tons of other choices in the city. However, the waitress was super friendly and the live band was solid and made a hand down great performance. So if you are looking to throw down a couple of bucks with some really good live music, go for it.

Do it (at least) once!
Went to the Darby with my girlfriends the other night and had an amazing time! The food was solid, the ice cream sundae was to die for, and the crowd was beautiful (I'd like to think we contributed to that)...But best of all, everyone was so - nice? It's not what I expected - the bartender was nice, our waitress was nice, the hostess was nice - it's a NY hot spot and people are nice? Call me crazy, but that was not expected. I'll be back.

good food, live music
The food was delicious. Try the tomahawk steak for two - mouth watering! and desserts were a homerun. Its loud but certainly fun!

Long wait for okay meal
We waited over an hour for a party of 4 to be seated after having made reservations well over a month in advance. The maitre 'de had little sympathy telling us the expected wait time was "15 mins" about five times, and that our table was still occupied because the party before had stayed over 2 hours. Didn't they plan for that?? We were finally offered a round of drinks but it was too little too late-- we were already annoyed and disappointed and they didn't even take the full round off the bill. Finally we were seated near 12am for dinner! Dinner itself was eh. I had the striped bass which wasn't much larger than the appetizers and somewhat tasteless. The waitress service was okay. The band was good but it was just way too loud in there so don't expect to have a normal conversation with anyone, especially if you're seated across one another. Anywhere you sit is a decent view of the band but booth seating is ideal. It's a good place for group dinners and listening to live music if you're willing to wait it out.

Disappointed
I guess it wasn't what I expected. The band was very good, but the space is too small to accomodate them. The noise level was so high that it was impossible to have a conversation. The food was good, but I wouldn't run back for the food. Good to go for drinks and to listen to music.
