great place with live music
I wandered into the Crooked Knife with my wife and 2 children on a Sunday evening to eat dinner and I have to say that I really enjoyed my dining experience at The Crooked Knife. Not only was the food good and the Guinness excellent, but we were treated to live Traditional Irish music. We planned to eat quickly but were so mesmerized by the music that we stayed for a few hours. We will definatly return!

Excellent
Went to NYC for my husbands 30th Birthday and ate regurarly at the Crooked Knife. Food excellent and staff even better. I put on 1/2 stone in 5 days. Had fantastic craic with Gary from Northern Irl. He could not have been more pleasant and welcoming. He even organised a small birthday cake for my husband. Beats the pants of everywhere we ate in NYC and will definately return to NYC and the crooked knife. Lisa & Michael, Monaghan.

Great-Down to Earth ,Chill Out and Relax
We Stayed in Hotel Thirty Thirty across the road. We dropped in here in the morning for Coffee (So Relaxing). We dropped in here for Dinner (Very Good). We dropped in here for a few Drinks (Excellent). Gary Lucas (Bar Man) made out time here feel like we were visiting our Local Pub/Restaurant. We felt so welcome and so at home. Not only that, but Staff (especially Gary) were so helpful in advising us where to go and what to see in NYC. (He was better than any Travel Agent). I have Never given any premises top marks but this premises was the nearest I have ever came to doing that. Keep Up the Good Work Folks!! Very Well Done!!

just like home
what a cute place. so cute and what a warm vibe. The food was average, but the prtions were large. The service was amazing. the girls all seemed friendly and could not have been more helpful. I learned all about the great places to go in new york( i am on holiday), and i amd surely going back before i leave.

Mixed Feelings
The bar side is appealing and comfy. Was pleasantly served at the bar. Like many places that serve roasted chicken, they cooked the dark meat sections perfectly but killed the white meat. Unfortunately, I caught the shift change and was kind of left hanging about further service and my bill. My finished plate just lingered in front of me on the bar even as I was paying-up. Not sure if I'll go back. Want this place to be a good local addition to dining but........

Couldn't have asked for more
Staying in the hotel across the road, the Crooked Knife was an obvious choice to a couple of weary travellers! The food was delicious, portion sizes (as usual for the US) were huge, and for a very reasonable price. In the bar, there was a nice [select]ion of beers on draft, including Magners cider (thank you!) and Stella Artois, so I was very happy. The real selling point of the Crooked Knife has to be the staff - I can't understand other reviewers comments, as we found them all to be happy, friendly, and attentive, especially Gary and Michelle. Give the place a try!

Excellent!
Fantastic spot for lunch. Cute Bistro-style atmosphere with delicious food at a resonable price. Good variety on menu. Service was a bit slow, but considerate wait staff. Very impressed and is on my list of favorites.
