The Cricketers Arms

Somehow the office happy hour invite ended up getting forwarded to more than 60 people. Where can we fit a huge group that had constant people coming and going? The Cricketer'Arms! I called a week in advance, asked if I could reserve space for 20+ people. No problem they said. No deposit I asked? No! Excellent, book it. The drinks (beer is what most had) were reasonably priced, the food was basic pub food, and the service was decent for being so crowded. The office group liked it so much that we are going back. Overall, the staff was very friendly, the space worked great for us, and it was near the PATH for our Jersey folks and the subway was close by for our Long Islanders and Manhattanites.

I have been to this pub five times now, and often been accompanied by military colleagues from the British Army, Royal Air Force, Australian Army, and the Royal Australian Air Force, and we all agree, this English pub is a great new place in Tribeca. The service is excellent and the staff are all warm and friendly. Lee the Mancunian Barman is a great gent, and truly pours a proper pint. Katie from County Sligo is a lovely lady and a great hostess. The pub offers a wide array of great British brews on draught, including Old Speckled Hen, Boddingtons, Bass, Old Golden Hen, Newcastle Brown, and other good beers on tap including Guinness, Stella Artois, Samuel Adams,. We all agree that the pub grub is delicious and the portions very satisfying. I have had the full English brekkie, the bangers and mash, the cottage pie, and the chippy sausages with beans and wedge chips (and I side order of black pudding), and they were all excellent. I highly recommend this as the Supreme Imperial Turtle of the Ancient and Honorable Order of Turtles, an international drinking fraternity, as a great pub! The Right Worshipful Bro. Denis P. McGowan
