    "Where's the pork"

I just ordered pork with garlic sauce. I order from them at least once a week. Normallly I amvery pleased. Today however, I ordered pork with garlic sauce. I got a plate of water chestnuts with garlic sauce. About 7 slices of pork each one quarter of an inch. If I wanted water chestnuts, I would have gone to the supermarket and bought a can for less.

Fast . tasty and great value

service has always been great , timely and helpful. food is plenty and very fair price. whiners here? went when they may be short handed , crowded , who knows... but when a good thing gets out there it will be taken advantage of and get busy... where can you eat a meal in a nice place with table linen in NYC for 7 bucks . shut up complainers. Children should not be allowed out unescorted

Fast food does not mean good food!

I ordered from this place twice.First time, I ordered black bean shrimp with rice and miso soup. It came up to be 7 bucks. Not too bad. The next time I got vegetable pad thai. Atmosphere: very peaceful, spacious, great lighting. Food:Seasoned. My shrimp was over cooked (chewy), and not cooked with cornstarch the way most chinese places do it.Large chunks of peppers and onions. In my pad thai, eggs were burnt. The pad thai also tasted weird unlike any pad thai I ever had Service:Super fast, which can explain why the food is so poor! I definitely will not recommend to anyone.

    Decent Food / Poor Service

The service at this establishment is truly mystifying. We were seated and proceeded to sit for 20 minutes before being contacted by any server. The waiter neglected to bring up water, plates, apps etc. The wine also took a long time to start flowing. The service was absent minded and rude. The food is decent. The hot and sour soup is not particularly outstanding (average). However, many of the entrees (curry fried rice w pineapple and general shin chicken) are good. The place is a good value as well. Ultimately, I would not go back. Decent food can be had many places, the service was hurrendous and the wine was watered down.

    Fast isn't everything

although this food arrives, almost everytime I order it, within 10 minutes, the error ratio has increased and the food quality has severely gone down. I need to find another local Chinese w/ better quality, time to start trying out some of the new ones that have popped up around here.

    not recommended

I understand that people work hard and I've never written a bad review before but... wow, this is, hand's down, the worst delivery I've ever had in my 20+ years in NYC. I don't understand how simple asian fare can be so utterly flavorless. The sesame noodles were drenched in oil, the Malaysian curry didn't seem to have any curry in it and the Pad Thai tasted a little like oily pasta from the Olive Garden... It's cheap though - and the old adage proves true, you do indeed get what you pay for. Do not order from this place....

    Never Again

Having nothing in the fridge for a snack I choked down the last of the Singapore noodles ordered from The Cottage and it was just as bad as the first go round. It had no flavor. Then there was the Sesame Beef, which I don’t even know what happened to the rest of it. I think my partner threw it out so I wouldn’t throw it at the wall in disgust. The Sesame Beef had no texture. It was a mass of wilted brown, yucky looking chunks of beef, I suppose, since that’s what we ordered. It had obviously steamed in the container since the chunks sat in a pool of watery sauce that was sour and nothing else. We live 2 minutes from the restaurant and the food was delivered 5 minutes after we ordered it. They should take the time and some pride to provide food that is representative of their culture. We give this place a shot every few years and then we remember why we don’t order from The Cottage more often. Never again.
