    very average

The only 'cool' thing about this place is the decor. otherwise, everything is very average. food was extremely disappointing and service was poor. food is pretty cheap for the city but the drinks were somewhat pricey considering all of them tasted like cucumber. would not recommend or return. try one of the other places in meatpacking if you are looking for a good meal.

    The next "It" place

This place has a pretty cool scene that makes up for rather mediocre food and service. I would say if you are showing some friends around and are looking for a hip crowd I would take them here.

    Not recommended

The food here is disappointing. I ordered the Chatham Cod which did not taste fresh. It was served with very bland tasting mashed potatos and a sloppy serving of what appeared to be and tasted like tomato paste straight form the can!

    Fun!

As I said in a review of another spot, I like places with names that start with "The" - it gives them a sense of gravitas and importance. With that being our criteria for the next night out, gfs and I went here for dinner and drinks. As expected the food was lousy and the service was surly, but it didn't ruin the night. The people watching was great and there is a certain vibe here which makes you want to stay.

Trying WAY to Hard to the next It Place

I was excited to try this new place after reading about it, but I was really letdown by its blatant attempt to be sooooo cool. It is trying way to hard to be new and hip and shokcing with its decor, which really is just annoying after a while. The food is completely boring and nothing at all jumped out at me. The cocktails were good though. Best thing is to go for drinks and eat someplace else.

    Great place for groups

Had my friend's birthday party at The Collective last weekend and we absolutely loved it! The food was good, cocktails great (I think mine was a Moscow Mule, served in a cool copper cup), but the atmosphere is ridiculous. I sat on a chair made out of a street sign. It just had such a funky and cool vibe, we stayed for almost 3 hours and the staff couldn't have been nicer.

    Funky decor and amazing food!

My friend and I stumbled onto this place and were delightfully surprised. The decor is very unique, from its pill bottle chandelier to its cut in half bathtubs as couches, and the staff is friendly and helpful. A must have is the chicken and waffles.Overall this was a great experience and I recommend it to everyone.
