It is unlikely we would venture a try at dinner here under normal circumstances, but the 2013 Restaurant week menu and price tag beckoned. We were not disappointed. The dry-aged steak in a charred espresso dry-rub with creamy sauce was plentiful and a melt-in-your mouth delight. The waiter's suggestion for my wine by the glass could not have been better. We were given attentive service that was not intrusive. The rich decor added to our intimate dining experience. The creamed spinach puts Luger's outdoes P.L.'s with ease. We were pleased and would enjoy this again, at lunch prices or the next round of Restaurant Week specials. Highly recommend.

The bread didn't come until the appetizers were served. I waited 45 minutes for my medium steak. When it arrived it was RAW. Not rare,not medium but Raw. The waiter agreed and returned it to the kitchen. The manager came over and said sorry your steak wasn't perfect. The steak when it arrived was stringy and not worth the $47.

The service was my favorite part about my experience here. The food was also great. Will go back zoo.

Got hustled at lunch yesterday with two grad students I was taking out. I guess we didn't fit the mold of the ideal company card carrying customer. FYI - there is no steak on the prix fix menu, only a "steak salad" that was shameful. Waiter takes order and then you never see him again. Free water doesn't get prompt refills but they were pouring our neighbors bottle water constantly. Just one of those NYC places.

Been there a couple of times - and both times the service has saved the place. The first time was with a group small private room. The last time was with my wife and friends and she said had the best steak she has ever had there .. my haddock I didn't eat... the onion rings we sent back [burnt] but they replaced them free with those truffle french fries -wow really good. The service at table was perfect [Jon].. the front desk is normal stuffy.. but the bar was doing a great business. Better than Benson's across the street.

Boss took us out today - maybe pre-hurricane lunch? Had the salad with sirloin which was pretty subpar. Steak had that fridge flavor. Our silver was dirty and the waiter made a comment when we brought it up.

I made the mistake of bringing three clients here for lunch. It was such a hustle and the steaks seemed reheated. One of them even commented that the atmosphere was like a shake down. Just a head up.
