    Good Food...so so service

    We went for restaurant week, we were sitting about 10 minutes before the waitress came over and aked if we wanted to see a wine list. We said no and she just left and didn't come back for quite awhile. What about asking if we wanted something non-wine related?! When she finally came back she took the order, then in about another 10 minutes we got the bread, but by that time the appetizers came. The waitress came to check on the food, but wasn't all that friendly. When it was time for dessert, she never asked if we wanted any coffee or tea, so we never got any! This waitress needs to learn some things!

    Food and Atmosphere is great but service

    The "Restaurant Week" menu was excellant in taste and value however service staff need better people skills.

    I can be ignored at home for free...

    Lovely space. Interesting menu. Friendly if vapid hostesses. Polite yet completely uninterested, uninspired, unhelpful, unaccomodating waitstaff. One wonders how engaging and inspiring management could be? I won't be back.

    Beautiful restaurant but....

    We had brunch there before a show on a Sunday. We had ordered appetizers. Other tables around us that arrived after us were receiving their meals, except us. We had to ask a busboy and our waitress twice for our entrees. When the busboy cleared the plates, he reached behind my husband instead of going to the side of the table. Twice he almost clocked my husband in the head with a plate! The food was good, the service was good, and the atmosphere was beautiful!

    A great find and experience

    We were a group of eight people, and every single of one of us loved the dining experience we had on December 19, 2004. The service was wonderful, the decor was impressive and the food was beautifully presented. An added perk to this restaurant is that if someone is wheelchair bound or in one of those scooters, this restaurant can accomodate entry with ease. Mostly, however, unanimous with our group, we loved our evening at Thalias.

    With friends like these...

    Are you kidding? Cramped and loud. We are visiting from Philly and chose Thalia because our dear friends recommended it. We asked the bread man 3 times for butter. It finally arrived with sticky fingerprints on it and was served on a dirty saucer. Our crab claws were good. The lamb we enjoyed but why so scrawny? The cheeks were OK the chocolate dessert was great. When our dinner came the plates were plopped down and the guys sleeve dragged through my glass of wine. We told the waitress who apologized and offered a new one but then brought over a watered down version. She was very cheery about it. We'll keep our friends but choose a better place next time.

    Service? Oh, there was service there?

    For the third time visiting this upscale beauty of a restaurant, I was again underwhelmed by the service. The waiter and busboy were about as dreary and smug as possible, though knowledgable when and if you could get their attention. The food was superb, though portions not so big... very rich and flavorful, even bold one might say. Can't wait until they add service to the experience!
