Good Service, Great Food
Along with five others, we ate at Thalia the last week of October. It has a busy, somewhat noisy atmosphere but I enjoy the energy of such places. The interior was both attractive and comfortable. We had a good experience and will return. Unlike some reviews, our service was fine. After being seated, we were asked to move to a different table to accommodate a large party that needed the particular table in which we were originally placed. While moving was a bit annoying to me, the staff was courteous and sincerely apologetic. Our waitress was attentive and well prepared. I thought she did a fine job. The food was delivered quickly and each order was correct. For the appetizer, I ordered the Thalia Caesar Salad. It was nice but lacked the hard bite that I like in Caesar dressing. I want to taste it for the next two days. I may be extreme in that regard, though. For the entree, I ordered the Seared Duck Breast & Crispy Duck Spring Roll. While the breast was very well seasoned and cooked, the flavor and texture of the Spring Roll was outstanding. I have eaten duck many ways at many places in many cities and this was the best I have eaten. Another member of my party said the same about the duck, particularly the Spring Roll. On to dessert... For dessert, I got the Creme Brulee. While a few places do a little better job with it, Thalia's was plenty good. My wife got the Chocolate Cake filled with Ganache. If you like chocolate, this is your dessert. It was fantastic. The group I was with does a fair amount of dining out at white table cloth restaurants. All six members of our party were impressed and would return to Thalia without hesitation. For $75 per person (food, tax, 20+% tip, three drinks), I can firmly recommend Thalia to others.

Local Review: I would pass
I walked by Thalia's a few weeks ago and saw the posh decor and ambiance, it looks like it would be a winner! I went to MenuPages and there were enough positive reviews and scores that made me think it would be good - I was wrong! :( The waitress was not good - she had zero personality and was all around quite harsh anytime we put in crazy requests like asking for water! When the meals came, a friend of ours (there were five of us) was served the wrong dish, when we told the waitress of the error she acted like it was our fault and was in no way apologetic.

Good food, efficient service
We were a little leery of trying this place after reading some of the reviews about service, but we were very pleased we gave Thalia a try. We were seated promptly by a pleasant hostess. Our waiter was efficient but not overly attentive. The food was delicious. The seared scallops were tender and the strong saffron was offset by the cider vinaigrette. My husband raved over the pappardelle with sausage and collard greens. Portions were sufficient, not overwhelming. Try the cheesecake for dessert,

Nervous About Service
My daughter suggested Thalia, I was nervous about the service mentioned in some of the reviews. Found just the opposite, we seated immediately, and David, our waiter could not have been more accommodating or friendly. He made suggestions, listened carefully to our order, also checked on whether we were attending the theatre. We were, so he assured us that we would be taken care of in a timely manner and out in time for our show. The food was beautifully served and absoultely delicious. We now have a new restaurant to rave about to our friends.

Poor Service
The service was poor the food just ok. The hostess never cracked a smile. They sat 4 of us at a 2x2 table we had to put our food by the window because it would not fit on the table. I will not be going back anytime soon.

Loved it!
We went here on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. Like most of the restaurants in the area, it's a bit overpriced, but the food is excellent. I had the Mushroom Duxelle Ravioli, which I would definitely order again. We didn't have any problems with our food, and we found the wait staff to be pleasant. The decor was a little trendy for my taste, but I look forward to going back.

Attitude
I have never been to a restaurant where the management has such a poor attitude. I was unhappy with a dish I ordered...it was over cooked. The waiter was not able to request a new piece of meat for me so I asked to speak to the manager who insisted ther was nothing wrong with my meat and refused to bring me something else. Generally the food is very good here but this time it failed. I will not return here again.
