food is good but service is poor
i ordered lunch special -chicken fried rice and crab dumpling , the waitress forgot bring the crab dumpling and i was waiting there for 30-40mins. The other time i ordered a shrimp fried rice and the shrimps were half cooked. I usually go there a lot and now decide not to go anymore!

Can't Beat it!
I love Thainy! The lunch specials are great: $6.95 for fresh, non-oily, flavorful food in nice portions! That's why it's so busy there! The service isn't the same as in a Zagat-rated restaurant. What more could someone want for that price? Basically, it's all steamed veggies and you pick a meat or tofu and a sauce of either ginger, basil or whatever. They include a nice sald with peanut sauce or a great soup. Some of the other reviews were weird. "I asked the waitress to recommend something healthful...." Duh. It's all healthful. I must go there at least 3 times a week, and I've never had a disappointing meal.

Disappointment, Bad Attitude
We told the waitress we wanted something light and healthy with lots of veggies and the waitress was NO HELP and seemed bothered we asked such a stupid question. So we ordered the standard Pad Thai with veggies and it was SUPER SUPER SWEET. I have a sweet tooth but this was unbearable, like a weird starbucks frappe on a plate with veggies, each bite like a spoonful of sugar. when I told the waitress, she didnt care and walked away and didnt return. I couldnt eat it and politely asked if I could please return it and instead just have a small side of veggies to call it even and she made us feel like idiots, protested, made a big deal about it instantly. We explained to the manager and she didnt even acknowledge us as the rude waitress kept scolding us. They act like they dont want or need customers, so oblige and dont go. dont bother them. they have enough business. if you do go and there is a problem with your food, just keep in mind they will likely NOT do a thing to rectify it.

Fantastic
Delicious, tasty and fresh ingredients. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking quality Thai.

Portion size inconsistent
Portion size inconsistent! Sometimes its full, other times it looks like 1/2 a portion size! What's up with that? If I paid for an entree, I should get a full portion's worth!

Disappointing
The near-empty tables should have been my first clue considering it was a sunny, weekend afternoon when every other restaurant on 3rd Ave was overflowing. But I went in anyways because I was hungry and thought I could get quick service. Boy was I wrong! It took them 20 min to bring me pad thai, and it was almost cold and oversweet. Then they tried to overcharge me. The only redeeming quality is the design of the restaurant itself: beautiful, stylish, clean. Too bad the food didn't match up.
