    Flavor was lacking

The chicken didn't taste fresh. The flavors were stale and without any vibrance. Not good. Not good at all.

Might be my third favorite thai place in the city

The food wasn't as good as at least two other places that i love but it wasn't bad either. I had the Basil Thai Chicken and the house cabernet wine. The chicken was not greasy. It seemed very fresh. The flavor was good, rich was steamy and i ate the whole plate. Service was attentive without being pushy. I would definitely eat here again if i were in the neighborhood.

    slow and cold

Called in a soup and salad order, and was told to pick up in 20 minutes. Had to wait 50 minutes. And then the soup was cold. $13 and a 50 minutes wait for cold soup and salad?! WTF?!

    Subpar food

My friends and I went to Thai Angel expecting a good, authentic meal based off the positive reviews. But boy were we surprised. We should have realized right after ordering the appetizers that something was not quite right. I requested the Vegetable Dumplings and was told that they were "out". Meaning, now that I look back on it, that they were frozen. At the time, we simply asked for the Vegetarian Spring Rolls and the Crab Cakes. The spring roles were obviously frozen, but fine. The crab cakes were not. They came with a "plum sauce". They were grey in color. For our main courses, we ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp, the Tom Yum Noodle Soup with chicken, and the Bangkok Beef Noodle Soup. The Pad Thai was greasy, unfresh, and the noodles were clumped together in an unappetizing glob. There were 2 shrimp. The Tom Yum soup had "an off flavor" and the Beef Soup was a mix of beef stock and beef that had a very "gross consistency". It was chewy and plastic-like. I really don't want to sound obnoxious about the restaurant...I am not in any way an expert on Thai food and have never attempted to prepare Pad Thai at home. But I do eat thai often enough to recognize the huge mistakes Thai Angel made, beginning with the frozen appetizers and moving forwards from there. I really suggest skipping Thai Angel and eating elsewhere.

    nice thai place

this place is very nice to have dinner in. the ambiance is great and it can get noisy every now and then but in general is a great place. thai food here is pretty good, except for the duck. my bf didnt like it. we had tom yum soup, some sort of fried spring roll thing, calamari, and various entrees to share. they were pretty nice and came to refill our ice waters quite often. it starts to get packed around 7 or 8pm usually so try to come early. theres no wait but its better to walk in and be seated right away. this is one of the few thai places near chinatown and the prices are right. not too expensive although there are thai foods for cheaper and better out there. by all means, if youre in the neighborhood give it a try.

    Subpar Pad Thai

I've always thought that you can determine how good a thai restaurant is by their pad thai. Unfortunately, this was some of the worst pad thai i've ever had. While my other entree was decent, the pad thai was greasy and had a fishy taste, as if they fried it in a pan that had previously been used for fish. Maybe its a one time thing, but I would not order from this place again.

    Great food!

I wanted some Thai food and accidentally found this place while I was shopping at Soho. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and pineapple fried rice. Had the Thai ice tea with milk for $2, considered pretty cheap compared to other places. The chicken pad Thai was spicier than other places I had tried, but nonetheless, it was delicious. I recommend this place for some great Thai food that's worth the price.
