First Visit
The food was good. The pancakes are really good as was the home fries. The prices are good. The service was Ok. I felt the waitress was friendly but not the most attentive. If called, she was quick to come over. No follow up was made on us other than when I prompted her. Even with the check. I had to take it to her. I was acknowledged after a few seconds of standing in front of her with outstretched check in hand. I found the lack of attentiveness a little odd as the restaurant was not that busy at the time. While there I observed something that was a more off-putting than the wait staff lack of attentiveness to guest. When the guest of a nearby table left, the dishes were removed and the table was wiped but the napkin with unused knife was left. The waitress just replaced the fork. The former quest hands were all-over that place setting including the knife. Couldn't help but wonder if my place setting was new or recycled. Yuck! This restaurant has good food but is let down by the Service and recycled place settings.

Always a happy place
I have lived in Brooklyn Heights my entire life, and Teresa's is a mainstay. Lazanki, blintzes, fried pierogi (the meat especially are sublime), potato pancakes, cold borscht in summer with dill, garlic, and a whole boiled egg...all delicious. I find the service very friendly, though without the forced smiles that Americans seem to expect. Love this place, it NEVER disappoints!

Service ! Service! Service!
I have been dining at Teresa for more than 7 years. Excellent food and peaceful atmosphere. I just can't stand for service anymore. It was just ok, then now it's getting worse. I had hard time of getting server attention since I step in there. No greeting. Server never come back to check if the food was ok or not. When I asked her for a check she still didn't bother to ask about the food. Of course, I didn't hear thank you word from her mouth when I left.

Spring lunch...
Had a lovely lunch today at Teresa's with a colleague. His first "Polish Food" experience. All was great, sat outside, great service and value.

Big disappointment
The pancakes were inedible, doughy. We sent them back and they brought out the same pancakes, reheated. The eggs were runny and the onions were whole slices, not chopped as expected in an omelette. The service was not good. We never got a refill on coffee as expected, and we were never asked if everything had been to our liking. All in all, a great disappointment, even though the atmosphere is lovely.

Service Brings the Experience Down
I live in the neighborhood but don't go here often. However, on 2 separate occasions I took out of town guests to this restaurant, and both times I, along with my guests, was disappointed. They both used it as an example of how service in NYC sometimes isn't as friendly as elsewhere in the US. I went for breakfast/lunch during the week both times so it wasn't overly crowded. Looks like a cute place from the outside but I can't get over the service. The waitresses acted rushed, didn't know the answers to our questions, were slow to follow up and check-in, and just generally were rude. I don't like to go to restaurants and feel like I'm imposing on them by being there, but unfortunately that is how I felt at Teresas.
