Expect the drop well over a $100 for mediocre tacos! (For 2) The Guacamole was spicy and good...I'll give them that! we also got the dozen tacos and corn. The tacos are tiny...I'm 124 lbs and my BF 185lbs ...and we'll probably NEED a 2nd dinner! The corn was so blahh ..it needed more spice or something! we gave it a shot and guaranteed will not be back.

I thought this restaurant was pretty amazing! Went here for the first time the other night and really enjoyed it. Wait staff was friendly, and accommodating. We where seated within 10 mins. The inside decor was unique and interesting. Bar was full of beautiful looking people and different varieties of tequila. The food was great, fish tacos are the best, and so is the tuna tartar! Between 3 girls, we tried three different tacos and margaritas, and there was not one that we didn’t enjoy. My favorite was Reposado Tequila!! I would definitely go back again, atmosphere was great, food was delicious, drinks are strong ;) and they play good music!

Love Teqa! I've been several times, I read the reviews below and can imagine a slow start since it's usually pretty crowded but I've never waited more than 10 minutes for my reservation and let's face it, who wants to go somewhere with plenty of available seating on a saturday night. I especially love going with a group, not only are the cocktails awesome and reasonable but the restaurant itself is like a party. Great music and crowd + pitchers of margaritas + indulgent menu perfect for sharing! Love the warm cookies... nom nom nom

I had such a wonderful time at Teqa. The food was terrific, the mini tacos are such a great idea. We ordered a variety and shared, which was perfect when you want a taste of everything. If I were you, I would definitely order the guacamole and chips, by far the best I have ever had. The hardest part of Teqa is trying to figure out which drink to order. Every drink I had (and tasted my friends too) were AMAZING. This place is a place for you to take a love one or a night out with a group. The designer and owners did a fabulous job, loved the atmosphere. I can’t wait to go back and have dinner and drinks there again.

Just had dinner at recently open Teqa. I thought the food was great and fairly priced. Drinks were awesome, mushroom quesadilla was fantastic. Great music and atmosphere. Negative was had to wait 15 min for our reservation.

Don't bother! Went with a group of 4 girls on a weeknight. Seemed like there was only 1 waiter fo the whole place - was barely attentive and definitely not there to be friendly. He didn't even know anything about the wines (of which they are extremely limited - one of each; I know this is a tequila bar, but come on!). I had to send back the glass I got, as it had gone bad (whole table checked just to make sure) - he seemed shocked when we politely informed him. You get 3 teeny tiny tacos per order with barely anything inside, rediculous. They should give atleast 4 or 5 to an order if they are that small AND at that price. The grilled chicken sandwich that I got was probably less than 1/4 lbs of pounded out dry chicken on a way too huge roll - I had to fill up on the bread rather than chicken. The guacamole was way oversalted. The salsas were lackluster at best. Make sure to check your bill - The unfriendly/unattentive waiter charged us for the 3 guacs instead of the 3 salsas that we got (we confirmed they were the same price on the menu); he also charged the soured glass of wine - he took it off once we pointed this out. The managers are nice and attentive; but this does not make up for the lacking food, drinks, service and way too expensive prices. A nice atmosphere, but doesn't compensate for what's lacking. Could be nice just to grab a tequila drink, but no more.

So Murray Hill finally gets a "hotspot". Well they need to have better customer service and work out the kinks. When I first arrived I noticed a few groups at the hostess stand asking why they were not sat yet when their reservation was 30 min prior- thats exactly what happened to us. I watched as 2 groups of left and the hostesses barely apologized. After 45 minutes of waiting we decided to leave as well. When I asked her- "realistically howl ong is the wait now? should I stay or go?"- Shes said "thats up to you I cant answer that"... NOt a way to have longevity in a business where there is so much competition.
