Tenzan

Not a date spot. The place is perfect for meeting up with a friend or two.They make sushi with brown rice and with very small amount of it. Which is perfect if you are watching your carb intake. I don't love the TVs everywhere and the server was a bit off. However, the food is great and the drinks are not bad. I will def go back.

I like good balance between good portion of rice and fish. I like Japanese way....

I've been eating Japanese all my life but haven't really had great sushi until I ate here. Best value Japanese in town!

I have lived on the Upper West Side for many years and have yet to discover a better restaurant than Tenzan. The fish is consistently fresh and the thick slabs of sashimi they serve are simply irresistable. I highly recommend the specialty roles ( such as the dancing eel role). They will leave your mouth watering and make you want to eat sushi every day of your life.

sushi is decent pricing is decent the woman host is the worst. talk about stuck up and pretentious. i ordered delivery from here. the host sent me unagi don when i ordered an udon and i sent me back and she still charged me for it.

Only had take-away Cannot comment on service or atomasphere.. Good rolls and sushi. Uni was not bad and big piece. Usually a good high water mark for freashness even if you don' like it. (I do) .

I am a bonafide sushi snob, and I thought this place was far superior to any other sushi I have had in Manhattan. The fish is very fresh, well prepared, and nicely presented. The staff was attentive and prompt. Try the spicy crispy tuna! It's delicious!! Will be back many many times!
