Tenzan

This place used to have pretty good quality sushi. It was my take-out sushi spot of choice (I have probably been 30+ times in the past few years). Then, pre-expansion, the quality started going downhill very fast. Now that they have acquired the space next door, it seems that they have had to buy cheaper/lower quality fish in order to afford the higher rent. Honestly, the texture of the fish is what is not good. It's really mushy. I have given them a second, third, and now a fourth chance to redeem themselves, but the sushi has truly gone so downhill. It's a real shame because I really liked the food.

Maybe we ordered the wrong items (didn't order sushi like everyone else, ordered the udon and tonkatsu), but the food wasn't very good or authentic. Pass on the green salad with ginger dressing, not worth it. One of my pet peeves is chinese style udon, where they cram a bunch of vegetables into the soup - broccoli, celery, button mushrooms, etc. Yummy stuff, but I don't want it in my udon. The tempera was also off. Too thick, fried differently than at authentic Japanese places, and not the most fresh tasting. I hate wasting food, but couldn't even eat half of one shrimp. My friend ordered tonkatsu which was decent, and there was a lot of it. All in all, I'll keep walking the next time I'm in the neighborhood. But if you chose to go, make sure to follow what everyone else is getting and eat the sushi... + Waiters were friendly

I ordered a couple of rolls for pick-up at lunch time. When i arrived, the server was incredibly nice, the restaurant itself looked really lovely, and made me regret I wasn't staying to eat there. The sushi itself was absolutely incredible! I had the sweet potato roll, and the spicy tuna roll. They don't overdo it on the rice, and the tempura is fantastic. Overall, my new favorite sushi in the area - especially for lunch. The lunch special is cheap and delicious. Highly recommended!

Love this place -- also has a few unique vegetarian rolls that are beyond the typical ones at other sushi restaurants. I definitely recommend the avocada/peanut roll

Really fresh, big slices of sushi, great rolls, friendly staff. I'm not sure why, but their tempura is also particularly great. The only thing I would request is that they open a branch a little further uptown (for some reason the west 90's/100's is a sushi wasteland.)

Always prompt delivery, good service and high quality sushi for reasonable prices. Doesn't disappoint.
