Who cares about the sushi, it has the best beers in manhattan ... Sushi was good, but worth going just for the cold beer ... did I mention they have the best cold beers ever known to man?

I just returned from Tenzan for about the 10th time since it?s opened. It has quickly become our favorite Sushi place in the city. The sushi is so good and the portions are extremely generous. The ambiance is simple, yet classy. The servers are extremely courteous and attentive (even when it gets busy) and they actually know and care about the sushi they are serving. I love eating in the restaurant, but I just ordered take out for the first time?and it was still delicious. I have a feeling this place is going to become more and more popular so go while the lines are still short. Try the sake in the beautiful wood boxes, the seaweed salad in the champaign glasses, and any of the special rolls! Enjoy.

This place takes the cake. We're huge sushi fans and are UWS residents, but have made countless Japanese restaurant visits all over the island, and bar none this place takes the cake for quality, artful presentation, decor, atmosphere, service and value. The chirashi, for instance, is about four dollars more than your average Planet Sushi or Raku rate, but the amount of fish you get is astounding. And it's not all omelets or shrimp or greasy, low-quality salmon or tuna. It's mackerel and yellowtail and all kinds of great stuff. We LOVE this place. And it's not known quite yet, so on a Saturday you can walk in for a good seat. Best kept Japanese food secret in Manhattan!

Always fresh, tasty. Very nice service. The place is not big but cozy.

We love their sushi......always very fresh and nicely sized pieces. BUT.....they almost never deliver in less than 1 hour. And for NYC standards, that is an eternity.

Love everything about this restaurant...we've been many times and will keep on going. Best, freshest, most innovative sushi around. The specials are truly special. I just wish they played more jazz and less easy listening music.
