Thought the food was excellent, very good to see a wide array of choices as well as some non-standard sushi options (some roll combinations work very well). The fish and rice are both excellent, and all of the food was top quality. The service is a bit of another story: there was a lot of confusion in seating us, and even though we had a reservation it took a solid 20 minutes to get a table (which would have been better with a "we can sit you at the bar for 10 minutes while we get a table" rather than the limbo of "just two more minutes". Seinfeld anyone?) Add to this the irony of suggesting we get a reservation next time and some order miscues, and the service was less than stellar. However, from an overall dining standpoint, the place was busy, and this is new york, so these things are bound to happen from time to time. If you are looking for a good sushi place to try, our miscue in service should not dissuade you from trying this place. The food is excellent and well worth the trip. While it is true that it isn't cheap, it certainly isn't extortionate as far as sushi is concerned. Bottom line: the food is great, and this place is worth a try.

The fish is terrific. Particularly excellent sashimi; rolls aren't as good. Huge portions. Terrific value.

Finally a delicious and reasonably priced sushi restaurant on the upper westside. Consistently good, fresh sushi and well presented. A home run!

I watched this place get built, and I knew if it was good food and good service, that it would be a home run... I am in the restaurant industry. I think they have hit it. I think they really care about the customer, and the food and service shows it. In addition, being on the upper West Side, it is the only place that I trust for delivery. Little expensive, but always good.

I keep coming back to this place. It is GOOD... lots of yummy fish and not too much rice on the rolls. very filling and definitely a good value! My faves are: spicy crunchy salmon and sweet potato roll. Don't miss em. You'll be thanking me for days to come.

We love the selection of options for vegetarian options. Great every time.

They used to be such a fantastic restaurant,. Good quality, prices, and service. Even home delivery dishes received the same care and attention to detail as in house dining. Recently they have been so 'hit or miss' (with one too many misses for my liking). Delivery often takes up to an hour. Once the food arrives, it is not presented in an appealing manner. Rolls are often soggy or overstuffed with one ingredient. Not too long ago they were set away from the pack of other local Japanese restaurants. I miss my old Tenzan!
