    Best Meal I've Had in NYC

    This was the best food I've had in the city. My only complaint is that the booth seats are not the right proportion in height to the table so I felt like a midget with my plate right under my chin- which made eating physically awkward. I'll just make sure I sit in the individual seats next time!

    Sublime Dining Experience

    We had another memorable evening dining at this favorite of ours. A warm welcome greeted us (the maitre d' graciously wished us a pleasant evening) and we were promptly seated. Our knowledgeable waiter answered questions about the menu with genuine interest in helping us decide. The variety made it difficult to choose among the tempting possibilities. We settled on the tasting menu with wine pairings and sampled nine different preparations. We enjoyed every morsel so much that we were even reluctant to share! Conversation stopped as we savored the subtle flavors and textures. The food is even better than we remembered from past visits. We happily tucked into old favorites like the incomparable smoked trout, hen of woods egg in a hole, & nantucket bay scallops. The foie gras torchon, with its perfect accompaniment of duck prosciutto, is proof that a genius presides in the kitchen. The wine pairings are inspired. The sommelier has such a poetic way of describing their characteristics and greatly enhanced our appreciation of the wines. Each of the pairings brought out the flavors of the dishes to perfection. The desserts are as delicious as ever, with the pecan chocolate tart a perfect marriage of crunchy nut & rich silkiness. The ice creams are velvety & the sorbets full of intense fruitiness. The service was most attentive. Water was constantly refilled. The pacing of the courses was faultless. I noticed that other patrons were equally well treated and looked supremely satisfied. We were made to feel like guests at a friend's home. We passed three hours in bliss. I would definitely put this on the top of the list for celebrating special occasions, taking out of towners, and pre or post Lincoln Center. The atmosphere is soothing, the sound level good and the lighting very flattering. I can’t wait to go back! I wish it's in my neighborhood!

    One star service for three star prices

    Having enjoyed many meals at telepan over two years, imagine my surprise while attending their special 4 course Seder dinner to have the staff refuse a simple request for one course to be substituted for allergy reason! In fact, when the haughty manager was summoned, he actually refused our request to remedy the situation by simply ordering an extra course..AT OUR EXPENSE. It was just plain weird....this is a simple request honored by three star restaurants city wide. Telepan is charging THREE STAR PRICES and sadly providing ONE STAR service.

    top notch!

    went here on a tuesday night with a date. the food was unbelievable, the service impeccable, and the atmosphere was great - definitely nice to see such a great restaurant choosing UWS as its location, but the meal itself, nothing couldve been better - and the foie gras donuts are a must-try.

    Keeps getting better...

    Been dining here since they opened, and it keeps getting better! Menu is constantly changing so diners don't get bored - yellowtail sashimi is out of this world, had the sea scallops the other night as well usually have a hard time getting through more than two, inhaled all four of Chef Telepan's parsley encrusted variety. New faces around the restaurant bring a great new energy, especially at the door. Keep doing what you guys are doing!

    Lovely evening!

    I usually don't write things about restaurants, but we were so well treated and the experience so sublime, I just had to chime in! I made a reservation for my husband's birthday and we were treated royally from the moment we arrived. The food was so interesting and delicious, and we both shared everything. The nice touch was a decorated plate with a candle which was brought for dessert, so thoughtful. We loved the quiet room and it all seemed so elegant. Thank you, Telepan.....

    Live in the neigborhood,have been a regular from the first week. Place gets better and better. Love the variety of things on the menu,easy to eat there a few times a month.Always something new and fresh. Chef is very friendly and there are some new faces at the door,who go out of there way to please.Tried some of the new trendy places on the upper westside,but always find my way back for a great consistent meal.
