    too salty and overpriced

Just came from Telepan. They stuck us at a table in the hall. Thought we would be seated in the back, so never saw the restaurant. Started with smoked trout appetizer. Too salty. Not good. Ordered striped bass without clams. It was a small piece in awful vegetable sauce that was bitter and not good. For $37, I expected a better piece and better prepared. Decided to skip dessert. Will not return.

Five star food and service - very accommodating. and attentive. The only reason I gave atmosphere a four and not five is the bathrooms, which need some updating and better lighting.

    Best Upper West Side Restaurant

My wife and I had dinner here last night. The bar is the way to go. We had battered asparagus with fresh mozzarella , fettuccine with summer truffles, and burrata mezzaluna. This was our third time here and the food was Outstanding! Last time we raved about the food to the chef sitting next to us at the bar... Little to know the chef was Bill Telepan himself. Didn't realize it was him until we left. Amazing! On the way out met the managers and the pastry chef. Everything was so good... Might go back tonight. A must visit! Enjoy!!

    One of the Best UWS

We enjoyed an excellent dinner, the first courses were very good especially the soup, the Artic Char was perfectly done as was the Lobster with pasta. The Pineapple Upside Down cake is a little weak and we believe other deserts may be a better choice. The very pleasant wait person explained the menu and delivered good service.

    Great find on the UWS

Was lucky enough to stumble onto a side street and find this amazing restaurant. The host staff was great, and accommodated a us as walk ins on a pretty busy night! Attentive, friendly server, and we took his suggestions and ordered the smoked trout and lobster bolognese...WOW!! So good. I will definitely be back back, and can't wait to try their brunch. Next time I think I will sit at the bar, they have a pretty neat bar scene and on our way out we were told they serve personal sourdough pizzas as a special only at the bar...can't wait to try!

    Good food, Poor service

I had a late dinner this Sunday, and have to say the food was very good. However, the service I received from my waiter was the direct opposite. He was snobby through out the whole night. And to top all that, our table paid with cash, and with a stupid mistake, we missed one 20 dollar bill. He took the check, and rushed back to my table, and laid out all the cash on the table saying "I don't understand this!".

this was our second time dining at Telepan. The first time was for dinner, and it was spectacular. Two months later, and we can't stop raving about it. Came in for brunch with friends from out of town, and again we were not disappointed. Very attentive service, even for a busy sunday brunch. The food came out perfectly timed. The smoked trout was definitely the star of the show. With six of us, we were able to taste most of the menu. Big burger plates, The hanger steak was very nicely cooked- perfectly rare. The sweet dishes were not too sweet, but hit the right spot. Tres leches from the dessert menu and the Cream cheese sundae are out of this world. Central Park is a block away, perfect for walking off the meal. Don't miss out on Telepan!
