I went to Ted and Honey for lunch with my boyfriend for the first time last month and since then, have been back twice. So far my favorite has been their Winter Turkey Panini- mozzarella, cranberry chutney, pumpkin butter, and turkey on ciabatta. My boyfriend is vegetarian and loved the Grilled Eggplant/Smashed Chickpea Sandwich - roasted red pepper, homemade hummus, herbed ricotta cheese, grilled eggplant, and avocado. Sandwiches come with crispy homemade potato chips- I couldn't help but ask for seconds. The restaurant is located on the top floor of the Navy Yard Center, a beautiful new building on Flushing ave at Carlton. All the walls are made of glass - huuuuge windows that not only let in a ton of light, but offer really great views of the Navy Yard- and the cafe is filled with potted plants soaking up the sunlight. They have a balcony with outdoor seating which will be great once the weather finally warms up! The last time I went I just got vanilla latte (homemade vanilla syrup!) and their gooey Chocolate Bread Pudding (yum), and sat in the cafe for a few hours using their free wi-fi. As a freelance graphic designer, its nice to have a quiet, peaceful place to go with lots of light to get some work done. I hear they have great all-you-can-eat Friday buffets for $10 and am looking forward to checking that out soon. Overall, I was very pleased with this restaurant and am thrilled to have found a good lunch/breakfast/coffee spot in the neighborhood!
