Downhill trend has leveled off @ unsatisfactory standard!
I've read all the reviews on Tebaya! I can say w/certainty, honest and great disappointment that they have lost their mojo. As one of their first customers, and a friend of original owner/Chef Pony, I have been a fan since the beginning. When he opened Tebaya it was an instant hit in the hood. It was a small operation but efficient and quick! Since changing hands, they've made a few very poor decisions. First, their decision to use white meat but not change the cook times has resulted in less tasty, dryer meat on the stick and sandwiches. Pony gave the instructions on how the prepare each dish, which though simple, were all well though out. Those directions have not been heeded! Now, they have more people working yet service is slower, due to incompetence. Different cultures beyond the counter offer confuse orders and make mistakes due to poor communication. I witnessed this on my 25 minute wait today on one order of terakushi. It was comical and a bit sad to witness. I also fear that their cleanliness factor has also become unsatisfactory. Pony had a policy of cleaning as he went, but that is no more. That's also sad to witness! In conclusion, it's a shame that such a unique concept in a restaurant has been left in the incapable hands of new management. However, there is a bit of goods news I can report. Pony was supposed to move back to Japan, which is why he left the restaurant. In fact he now works @ Dodompa Japanese Izakyau.

Not for me!
Chicken wings and the sauce on the chicken cutlet sandwich had a same wired sauce. It would be much better not have that sweet soy sauce flavor. Don't get me wrong, I was born in Japan so I love soy sauce any kind. I will not like to have in my mouth the rest of my life!

Good Stuff
Great food friendly service. More people typically complain about stuff they don't like rather than praise the stuff they do like. Don't let the negative reviews fool you!

Gone downhill
Ordered from them for the second time, and this time they decided they wanted to ask for a higher minimum for delivery. My order was missing half the food, and when I called, the very rude guy hung up on me. What I did received was dry, overcooked, and thoroughly unpleasant. Give this plaace a pass.

Hideously disappointing
The poorest wings on the earth. Fried chicken fat on bones. No meat. No flavor. Total pile of grease.

Great Lunch
It was a great lunch. Food was good and crispy. I ordered the chicken teriyaki sandwhich combo. It was delicious. Did not taste greasy at all.

It's Delicious!
I love this place! It's such a cute little place. I love swinging by there to get take out on my way back from Bed Bath and Beyond. They have really good wings, it's their signature after all. They've got really good flavor, lots of garlic and soy sauce, perfectly sweet, not cloying.
