It's Delicious!
I love this place! It's such a cute little place. I love swinging by there to get take out on my way back from Bed Bath and Beyond. They have really good wings, it's their signature after all. They've got really good flavor, lots of garlic and soy sauce, perfectly sweet, not cloying.

It was just OK
I read the reviews and had to order. Overall the flavor was great. The wings that came with the sandwich had a nice non-sweet sauce with a good peppery kick. The katsu sandwich tasted good but was way too heavy in an oily greasy way. The potemochi were the real reason I ordered and I can see how they could be good, but again, the greasy heaviness was off-putting. So, flavor gets a thumbs up, execution vis a vis cooking, thumbs down.

Japanese Chick-fil-A
If you love Chick-fil-A and Japanese food or great sandwiches: run, don't wak, to Tebaya for the chicken katsu sandwich. Two chicken patties, flavors of soy and miso, crunchy cabbage. Only downside is the expense, but think of it as two sandwiches, one bun, and you'll be fine. Nice wings as well. I'll be back.

not great
got some delivery from them -- came very quickly, maybe 15 minutes. outside of that, i wasn't too thrilled. i got the chicken teriyaki ($10) and there were maybe 8 little strips of fried chicken on a bed of white rice. i imagined i would get some veggies, but no. and i also wasn't expecting the chicken to be fried when my intention was to order something lean and healthy.

best chicken teriyaki
i had the chicken teriyaki. $9 buys you chicken teriyaki over rice, 5 teba wings, and a salad. enough food for a meal and a half. teba wings are sweet and crispy. the chicken teriyaki is FRIED and delicious. the sauce is a nice mild version of their teba sauce, not that awful sweet syrupy sauce they seem to use in every other teriyaki dish at other cheapo japanese restaurants.

scrappy little place
this place epitomizes whats great about new york- you can get tasty fairly distinctive japanese wings and food thats hard to find anywhere else. the wings are definitely tasty also the consistency can be spotty. the karage is nice, and i like the curry although i agree its no big deal. definitely support this unique spot.

Delicious and worth every penny
Unassuming little space with delicious chicken wings with the right amount of spice. Reasonably priced with very friendly staff. Worth checking out for people looking for new places to try.
