    So-so

    We went on a Friday afternoon...it was packed but we were lucky enough to get a table. We sat ignored for a very long time, then finally got someone to take our order. Our 2 glasses of wine came after we got our food...the staff were understaffed and overwhelmed....unable to handle the crowd. The 2 salads we got were good...a cobb and a goat cheese...we were happy with that.

    Very friendly staff, delicious food

    Teany is a perfect lunch spot to relax with friends. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff is friendly. The chocolate macaroon cake is wonderful and my non-vegan friends enjoyed the food too. I recommend teany highly.

    A cool relaxed place!

    I really like this little restaurant! The food is great & the vegan cakes are incredible! You want a nice place to hang with friends & have good food, this is your place. Ps. You will be greeted & waited on by a very friendly staff.

    Great Tea but Slow

    I love to relax at Teany with a great cup of loose leaf tea (the variety alone is reason to come back) and a slice of their tofu cheesecake- yummy! While the waiters are always friendly, the service is painfully slow...to be seated, to have your order taken and for the check. Also, the place itself is pretty crowded- try to come off peak and it's not too bad. Sometimes I want to pour a teanychino on my server's head, but I still recommend it for the tea:}

    Best spot to feel like you're in the UK

    I've just come from 3 years in London back to NY and I can't tell you how nice it is to feel pampered in a way noone here has felt. This place is spot on with the menu and teas for any Britain to feel at home. From the beans on toast to their ploughmans to cucumber sandwiches-yu can't go wrong. And their selection of teas is out of this world! You want to feel like you've met the queen, have the fine English. You want to feel like you've just purchased from Whittard of Chelsea, order Darjeeling or Assam. I've bought tea from Whittard and it tastes almost the same at Teany. Good job Moby and Kelly Tisdale! Cheers!

    Disappointing espresso

    I love the desserts at Teany - hate the wait! Took a non-vegan friend from out of town. She loved the Teany sandwiches and blueberry pie/ pb bomb. Ordered espresso and was disappointed. It looked like a 1/2 cup of coffee. No crema! They charge $2.25 for it. Really poor. I love the big slices of vegan cake in the restaurant. Wanted to get some for later from the takeout section. I was disappointed. The cheesecakes are 1/2 the size of what you get in the restaurant and the price is the same. $6 is steep but I don't mind paying it as long as it's a decent size.

    teany or teany to go

    A devoted teany goer... love the teas, array of sandwiches. Was excited about their delivery to go that opened next door to them & delivers quickly to satiate my urges :) Was quite saddened to see that their "to go" menu offers only 10 percent off there normal menu. HOWEVER after ordering for the past 2 months, there now seems to be a problem at the "to go". Several times I have called & they can't deliver since their delivery guy is late or M.I.A. They run out of croissants now early in the day & I tried to order 4 times over the past week & they were out of whatever I asked for, wether it be the pie, croissants, muffins, ham & cheese. As well, their potato salad is like russian ruelette- hit or miss. Either crisp & tasty or completey watery, mushy & slathered with garlic so we have to throw it out? Plus, lately there is a fellow on the after 6 pm shift who has an attitude on phone, and basically sounds like he doesn't want to take the order, and sigh huffs the whole time & keeps asking is that all you are ordering when you have already racked up @ $20 worth, so the minimum is beyond met. Think the staff needs a swith cover. Their penne w/ pine nuts is always good, and the apple pie, blueberry pie is tasty when it is Fresh (delivery comes on Tuesdays), and their almond croissants are the bomb!
