    If u don't like it u don't get it

If you’re the type of person whose idea of a nice restaurant is Cheesecake factory then teany is not for you. I can understand why people like that may say they don’t like it, it’s small, and the service can be slow sometimes. But the fact of the matter is that its a little tea shop in the LES, what do you people expect? The staff is friendly, the food is good, the music selection is fabulous and it’s completely unpretentious (not to mention that it’s a great place to see cute boys and girls).

    What's wrong with you people?

I love teany, not only can I eat everything on the menu but the staff is friendly without being sickening. I practically crave the food everyday and the hot and cold drinks they have are delicious. Is everyone losing thier mind?

    Disappointed with Teany

My husband and I just returned from New York City and had a wonderful time. We made a specific point of finding Teany while we were in the Lower East Side, after reading about it in the Lonely Planet. We were extremely disappointed with the service - we found our waitress was very rude and uninterested. Clearly, we were not one of the locals, but she made no effort to make our visit pleasant - not even a thank you or a smile. When I asked about the bathroom key, she replied rather rudely that if it was locked, that meant someone was in there. The food and tea were nice, but not outstanding - more so, we were just disappointed by the service and attitude of our server more than anything. Otherwise, it is a cute teahouse and we would try it again were it not for the service we received.

    Tealicious!

I love Teany! I especially love their lychee tea-just put a few drops of Lichido lychee liquor in it and you've got magic. I also really liked the T Salon on 20th Street, but I believe they closed. Their website says they're due to open in Chelsea Market in the winter of 2006. Can't wait!

    Love it.

This is a great place to go on a date, with friends, or alone. I've been on countless dates here, taken almost all of my close friends, and sat there whenever I wanted to study or listen to music or draw, while drinking great tea. There are so many different teas and ABSOLUTELY delicious vegan pastries that I don't see why anyone wouldn't at least want to try it.

    Tea-rrific..!

Yah. Pretty cheesy title but it got your attention. I really loved the tea. It was a new experience to me though I felt out of place. I loved the layout & all. The bathroom actually smelled nice! A big *gasp* to a few restaurants. The waitress would not stop touching the chair infront of me. Was she trying to keep the place in order? I don't know. I love the little flowers on the wall. I love that it's like a little nook outside. I think it's adorable. It's higly recommended. I will go back. They accept only cash.

I really wanted to like teany!

I went to teany really excited to try everything out. I love tea and the fact that their menu was vegan really excited me! While the tea was good, the place is quite small and always crowded (we were literally elbow to elbow with the table next to us) My friend ordered a salad that was in the 10-12 $ range and it was a real dissapointment, my chai was very water down and the vegan muffin I had was overly dry. Our meal was quite expensive for the quality of food, next time I think I'll look elsewhere for vegan goods and just pick up my tea (to go) and take it home to brew.
