Hot, Fast, Cheap and Friendly
The food is basic diner food. But it is fast, inexpensive and hot. the staff and owner are friendly and appreciate repeat customers. I eat there at least 3x a week.

A working man's greasy spoon
I'm a little surprised to see this typical "greasy spoon" get such a high rating. I've no desire to trash the joint, but it's definitely a last resort for lunch for me and my friends who work nearby. Nothing poisonous here, just fast and cheap diner food. And I do mean *diner* food. The atmosphere is blue-collar (NYC radio reporters sometimes come here to get the opinion of the common man). It is somewhat noisy, with formica tables and cheap paneling. The waitresses are harried, warm and friendly, the owner gruff and pleasant. It's fine for local color and a budget burger, but not where you'd bring a date.

Friendly diner with good food
Depending on what you order, Taso's is either incredible or not good. They have excellent breakfast, great sandwiches, and delicious gyros. I don't like their more extravagant items on the menu (seafood, veal- even the desserts). This is great diner food, but not fine dining. I gave the service 5 stars- they are so sweet on the phone and so helpful in person. Customer service in a restaurant this busy is can be hard to come by.

If you're looking for no frills...
I don't know abut sweet sixteens and fun and friendly waitstaff... are we talking about the same restaurant? The place is perfectly fine for what it is -- a no-frills diner. The food is decent, the prices aren't too steep, but the staff seems as thrilled to be there as you would expect, and the space is pretty plain. But y'know what? There aren't too many choices over in this neck of the woods, and sometimes all you want is a quick and easy place to get a quick bite -- and this satisfies it nicely.

Entertainment and Service
We here at Audi order from Tasos' several times a day. The food arrives timely and hot. The guys on the phone are friendly and fun. Tasos is great!

Sooo Good!!
I eat at Taso's at least twice a week, and I must say, there isn't a better diner in the New York Tri-State Area. Taso's is to diner food as Nobu is to Japanese cuisine. I highly recommend the grilled cheese with tomato and bacon (xtra crispy! - not on the menu but ask for it!. The staff is top-notch, the food comes out within two minutes of ordering. And to boot, the new renovations make it a diner's delight. I had daughter's sweet sixteen at Taso's, and she was ecstatic.
