    Everything was wrong

Shouting loud assorted PIB's (PERSONS IN BLACK)in a sparse cold atmosphere, miniscule portions, ridiculously expensive. This restaurant was everything I dislike in New York restaurants...I thought that trend was long gone... One fired lamd chop pounded thin served on a brown paper bag on a plate, not kidding nothing else...... $16.00. A selection of 5 cheeses, not one larger than a half dollar, $29 dollars. Ravioli, 5, for $16.00 Appetizer portion at best...Our food ( this was not dinner but more like stingy Italian tapas) for 4 with 2 bottles of wine with one dessert was over $300 and we all walked away very hungry....We are not looking for fat America supersize portions but his was just a disgrace. I can't even begin to discuss the taste of the food, although for the most part it was good and the ingredients were quality, however, there was no talent /chef in the kitchen, just a cook cranking out items with very simple preparation.

    Delightful!

Really fantastic Italian at very reasonable prices, their menu is much more expansive than what is pictured here. I had the chickpea and fish ravioli soup (surprisingly great, I didn't know what to expect) and the speck gnocci (bursting with intense flavor). Portions are not huge, but certainly satisfying, and the quantity of flavor immense. The coffee was tasty and the dessert menu looked divine. It was an extremely inviting restful atmosphere and not too loud to have a nice conversation. Service was attentive and friendly.

    What a Find!

Went out for dinner on New Year's Day evening -- a group of 7 people on a Monday night. The food was delicious and extremely fresh tasting. We had wonderful cheese and salads for appetizers. Main courses including cod, salmon, pasta with monkfish ragu, and a tasty vegetarian baked crepe. Zagat's food rating is 21 -- I would have given it a 23 or 24. The waiter was very helpful in guiding through some options including the wine. Will be going back.
