    Bad service on delivery

It's great food if you only eat it in the restaurant. I ordered a delivery, and the food quality was very poor. No more deliveries for me.

    Good Mexican

Really good mexican food outside of California. Not a very big place, but very flavorful and good service

Good deal on the real deal.

Good food for cheap, and that's a bit of a rarity in Manhattan. When I get a craving for the taste of acrid, char-cooked meat--that taste that you feel on the side of your tongue that shoots over into your ear--I come here. About once a week, in fact. Excellent tacos and alambres; unwieldy, but sloppy-good burritos. Still have the enchiladas queued up in my to-do list, but I have high hopes. The only thing I haven't liked has been the guacamole. I used to have a rule that if a Mexican food place couldn't make decent guacamole, I wouldn't go back. But now I have an exception. The other possible negatives are the venue itself--small, cramped and you'll come out smelling like a grill. If that's not a problem, eat in. If it is, try your luck with delivery. I've had two deliveries so far--one arriving within thirty minutes on a sunny weekday afternoon; one arriving after an hour and a half on a Saturday night--I should've known better, I guess, but it was all in the name of restaurant review science. All in all, recommended con gusto.

    Neighborhood Gem

Hustling and bustling dive with the best Mexican food that I have found in NYC. Reminds me of the good stuff from LA.

about as good as it gets in new york

Growing up in texas, I got accustomed to good mexican, somthinge not common in NYC. This restaurant is about as good as it gets here. The food is authenticly Mexican and delicious. However, I ordered a burrito that one time had a extremely low quality of meat. Delivery is a disaster, and the eating in the restaurant is loud and somewhat annoying. Go pick it up. Overall, I am glad I found this place, and have returned numerous times. It is worth your time and money.

    Going downhill

Food used to be alright, but has detiorated in quality. Deliver takes FOREVER -- minimum 45 minutes even if you live 2 blocks away.

    jorge is the man

this place is the man. i dig the jukebox hole in the wall kind of seedy atmosphere- i feel like im in a true taqueria. the pastor and carnitas tacos are amazing, so are the tortas. occasionally the tamales are overcooked. also salsa on the burritos should be automatic, they tend to be a little dry. really like the lime salsa and tortilla chips. the service is fun and personal. i think an upgrade would harm this place more than help it-- too much in this neighborhood is being revamped and ruined already.
